As a Tulsa fan, I want to say so long to our older & newer CUSA rivals. CUSA was a great home for Tulsa the last 9 years. We had many exciting seasons of football & basketball in CUSA. I personally have hated all the conference changes of the last few years. I hope we will again be in a conference with many of you all when the next inevitable conference shuffle comes. We'll especially miss our western division rivals, Rice & UTEP.
Hope we find ways to play OOC games in the future.

Wow, I actually made this thread with good intentions. I've never trashed CUSA & I never will. As a Tulsa fan for over 40 years, I've seen Tulsa play in the MVC, as an independent, in the WAC & in CUSA. I enjoyed our CUSA years as much as any other years, especially in football. It has been & it will be a good conference.

So with that in mind, I honestly say "Thanks to CUSA & best wishes in the future".

The hurt is just especially great in these ones. Dont take it personally bud.

First, I don't think Tulsa's your peer, or SMU's. Their profile (student body size, research level, etc.) is more like Belhaven or Milsapps... or, for that matter, Oral Roberts University. They just happen to have D1 football.

I honestly think USM is far closer to being a legitimate peer to you than Tulsa. I don't mean to be too disparaging... I'm sure that those little country club colleges have their place.

Second, conference affiliation is basically all about sports. Ultimately, Tulsa doesn't want to be the only school in a conference that doesn't allow partial qualifiers. Beyond that, it's all just posturing and excuses.

All about sports? Tell the Big10 and Pac12 that.

Academics are very important to those cinferences. Boise state can tell you that. AAU can show that.

I echo TulsaFanzz's sentiments.

C-USA was a great home for the Pirates and good luck going forward.

I always loved CUSA.

I'll miss UTEP the most. Couldn't have asked for a better rival in CUSA.

Good luck to you guys. Hate to see you leaving just as we are arriving, but I suppose you had to leave for us to be here.
