When is the warmest day of the year?

Interesting that the Atlantic Southeast gets warmer sooner than the South Central.

I would agree. That area tends to have bubbles of high pressure that just sits stationary during the earlier months. It gets hotter in AZ in May than it does all year in OK.

This is also highly influenced by the fact that the SE and SC get a substantial amount of rain during that period.
