Interesting that the Atlantic Southeast gets warmer sooner than the South Central.

Notice how early the desert southwest hits max so early. almost before summer starts. Always figured that heat built up over extended periods of time, which would explain the South Central..

I would agree. That area tends to have bubbles of high pressure that just sits stationary during the earlier months. It gets hotter in AZ in May than it does all year in OK.

This is also highly influenced by the fact that the SE and SC get a substantial amount of rain during that period.

It depends upon when the annual family summer picnic is scheduled. This year it's July 20th.

Well, it was 99 degrees here yesterday, so, yesterday was damn hot. Don't forget the humidity!! lol
