They would have been my first vote.

This^^.... Cinci is the best balanced G5 school athletically. It's better than UCONN (Husky foootball has to drastically improve), but UCONN has a better national brand. Moreover, it gets the ACC into B10 territory for taking Maryland (a blessing disguised as Louisville)....

RE: If the ACC were to expand
There is only one full member addition that really comes to mind:

West Virginia.

they have the proper demographics, rivalries, and common history. It is the last home run move that the ACC can make without having to radically alter its conference footprint.

Since WVU is off the table for the next few years the only logical move would be to upgrade Notre Dame, bring in Navy as FB only, and Gtown as a non football.

RE: If the ACC were to expand
NCAA approves Deregulation...."IF" expansion the following order of "realistic" candidates....ie no Texas/Big XII Schools or Notre Dame as Football Members:

1. Cincinnati
2. UConn
3. Tulane-(AAU School, Nice TV Market and any excuse for a trip to New Orleans)

Now wish list:
1. Notre Dame
2. Texas
3. West Virginia
