How many seats do these schools expect us to hold? I would think we could offer somewhat more than 1,500. But I don't know how they arrived at that number.

I agree, I don't get why we cant offer 3k or 3500 if that is what it takes.

Info I found on BGSU/IU series.

Bowling Green will play Saturday at Indiana and will face the Hoosiers again in Bloomington, Ind., in 2017, and will receive $250,000 and $200,000 for each appearance; Indiana will play at Bowling Green next season and will receive $200,000.

Offer the 3500tickets, then have our fans buy them from their ticket site. It's so evil it has to work.

The opponent would sell their tickets thru a donor/points system just like we will with the NU tickets.

Frazier basically said it was difficult until we get more seating. We offer opponents around 1500 visiting seats. Most want more and it seems he is not willing to give them more with the current setup. Though I am not sure other than the regional B1G and few B12 teams who really would bring that many since there is no way we are getting a HUGE team here.

Adding 2-3k seats on each side of the East side should not be a huge expense and it would allow the center 1-3 sections to be sold as premium seats. I know most students would be against the idea but if that is what it takes to bring in some bigger name opponents then that is whats needed for this program.

NIU is not getting OSU or Michigan or Penn State into Huskie Stadium , we know this. It doesn't matter how many seats you have. It also doesn't matter how many seats you add, we CAN get Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, Michigan State into Huskie Stadium if everyone does their appointed jobs. Obviously NU and Illinois are no-gos for a completely separate fear factor issue.

You'll never get Michigan State to come to NIU. What are you smoking?

Though maybe a game at Wrigley Field or even Soldier Field could happen.

HuskieJohn, I don't know or care how good your sources, but I sincerely believe you've hit the nail on the head. It's all about the ante.
There's no reason we should not be able to get an Indiana-level program to come to HS by offering more. Pick a season with a payout for us (at Ohio State, at Nebraksa) and invest more of that money into an opponent that can create the same kind of interest and atmosphere we had when we first had Wake Forest, Maryland, Iowa State come here.

Here's the thing, does Michigan State really need to come to Chicago when they play there once every couple of years? Not really, they already recruit that area there's no need in their eyes to take that risk.
When Missouri comes to Toledo this year, its a recruiting trip for Pinkel and his staff to Ohio which they want to break into because of the high school talent there.

NIU had Wisconsin coming to Dekalb before Compher decided his resume building was more important than NIU football.
You will have a few people say Wisconsin was not coming, but they would have definitely come. Also, if CMU is able to
attract Michigan State, then NIU could. There is no reason, no reason at all, that other MAC schools cannot reach the
CMU/Toledo/BG level with scheduling.

Michigan State has a contract with the Michigan MAC schools, for what I think are three for one deals as a good will gesture to the Michigan MAC schools. Even though I think they will buy out EMU in 2020 or move that game to Ford Field.

Michigan State will not play NIU, in Dekalb or Chicago, they have nothing to gain from it.
If you want to schedule like Toledo does, then cough up the cash. Toledo has no problem doing that and gets it back at the gate, concessions and parking. Its really not that hard to figure out.

Wisconsin and Iowa also come to Chicago on a regular basis to play Northwestern and recruit Chicago very heavily. They do not have an issue coming to Chicago often to play the Huskies, Why would Michigan State? Also Michigan State would benefit by coming to Chicago because Chicago has a huge amount of basketball talent and Michigan State is a basketball powerhouse.

Tom Izzo doesn't need any help from the football team to recruit, his name alone recruits kids, just like Coach K and others.
