UofL football's all-time record vs. the ACC
I've researched little ACC-related odds and ends for my website in the week leading up to July 1. Here's the first installment; UofL football's record vs. the ACC.

Yep! I can still see that 2012 game.
BTW when playing in Louisville, EVIDENTLY IT IS NOT PASS INTERFERENCE when the Louisville player rips the helmet off of a receiver when it determines the outcome of the game.

That may have been pass interference but it had nothing to do with the UNC players helmet coming off as the helmet came off pretty much when the ball was already dropped. There was some touching before the ball but it could have gone either way. Its one of those calls that the refs should swallow the whistle because its too close to call during live action.

So a 4-21 record versus the two schools who've played the best football over the last 35 years.

It's going to take some time to break the Big East out of you guys.
If all of the Big East had been as cohesive as most of the "fans" on this board........you would still have your own conference.

(06-25-2014 10:31 PM)Marge Schott Wrote:  So a 4-21 record versus the two schools who've played the best football over the last 35 years.

Let's look at the breakdown of UofL vs FSU and Miami:

Overall: 4-21-1
1933-1954: 1-4-1
1970: Loss
1979-1987: 0-13
1991: Loss
2000-2013: 3-2

I want to extend a hearty congratulations to the Noles and Canes for racking up the 13-0 record against UofL from 1979-1987. I could discuss how the program seriously considered dropping down to I-AA before the hire of Schnellenberger during the 80's. However, more telling of just how impressive 13-0 was against UofL during that time frame is this.... the Cards played 13 I-AA teams from 1979-1987 and only went 7-6 in those 13 home games. Our skill level, facilities, and fan support at that time was I-A in name only.

I don't think you'll find many UofL fans claiming our program was brought into the ACC because of our impressive football history from the 1970's and 1980's. Feel free to discuss the relevancy of how those results will play out on the gridiron this fall and moving forward.
