Melo should have gone to Chicago, they are dying for scoring, esp. if Rose can't come back to his former self.

Lance Stephenson to CHARLOTTE for 3 Years / $27M.

Charlotte is having a great offseason and might shock some folks in the East next year!!

I think the east will be Cavs, Chicago, Charlotte competing for the EC championship.

And now the word is it's between Charlotte & Atlanta to sign Carlos Boozer! Would just be icing on the cake!

Boozer on a mid-level contract for 2 years would be great. Very good rebounder and could give the Hornets 12-15 points a game if needed.

I absolutely love the Lance signing for Charlotte. I don't know if they will truly contend for the East, but a top 4 seed is a definitely achievable goal. Signing Lance has the added benefit of hurting Indiana, another East contender without the means to replace him. Stuckey is a fine role player, but Lance should have been an all-star this year. Back to Charlotte, Roberts and Williams were good value signings too. The Hornets are right on the salary cap line and have one more open roster spot, which I would use either to bring back CDR or get another big such as Mike Scott or taking a flyer on Emeka Okafor being healthy again.

It's official, Kevin Love to Cleveland. Between that and Rose getting healthy, the East should be much improved this year.

To me the East still looks a lot like last year, except the two teams at the top are different. Instead of Miami and Indiana, this year it will likely be Cleveland and Chicago. Then there's a second tier of Toronto, Charlotte, Washington, and Miami in some order. And fighting for the last two playoff spots are Atlanta, New York, Brooklyn and Indiana. Still just two title contenders in the East compared to the murderer's row of the West.

The East will be wide open for who wins it(The East) but none of their teams can take a Western Conference team in a best of 7 series at this time.

Sorry but I don't agree. Cleveland has a shot vs any team in the West. They have Lebron, Love and Irving. No team can beat that top 3 in the league. And for the people acting like they have no one else, Waiters and Thompson are solid young players. Varejao is still there and is underrated. Not much of a drop off from the much hyped Joakim Noah. The bench could have players like Mike Miller, Shawn Marion, James Jones, Ray Allen etc to fill in too. And they still have tradeable assets/picks to get another big.

The Cavs have a definite shot to win it all.
