RE: Is attendance down for basketball?
Attendance is without a doubt down. But the many emails could just be a way of the new regime.

Anyway I was looking at how much the capacity varies between stadiums...Syracuse holds 33,000. KY holds 23,000 Louisville 22,000+, UNC almost 22,000, UTK 21,678, Villanova 21,378, Mizou about 19,000 while USC's capacity is 818.

Our Forum holds 18,119.

If this is accurate, since 2004 when FEF opened, the Tigers average 85% of capacity, with the peak coming in 2009 @ 94%. Low year was 2005 @ 53%. Table updated with "% of Capacity" figures; see below.

Gloss over the negative tone of the post because that's how you think. What else is new?

I think we are only down in regards to student attendance. If we can get that fixed everything will be fine.

Paranoia can be a good thing. I am paranoid about being eaten by large ill tempered fish with razor sharp teeth that live in the ocean - so......I spend a lot of time above 9000 ft in Colorado. Saves me from man eating sharks but now worry a lot about RMSF and bears. sigh! Its always something.

RE: Is attendance down for basketball?
They do the seat selection thing every year. You have the money you can find a better seat.

Attendance down? Some, but we have not had a deep run in the NCAA for a while. It happens. One year with a deep run and the juices start flowing again. It's happened before and it will happen again. It happens at almost all schools.

We have a passionate fan base that will buy the tickets just to keep the seats. If we are winning more of them show up. If we are playing good teams and winning even the students and the walk-up fans show up. Make a deep run and the we could beat the Grizzlie fans start calling into the talk shows.

Such is the circle of life in fandom.

Not much difference at all-still incompetent. I had have season BB tickets for close to 30 years; was in top 10% of lifetime giving. Long story short, I decided not to renew due to continued screw ups by Tiger Club/Ticket Office and the fairly new policies that allow a first time donor to come in and beat my donation by one level for one year and get better parking, seats. etc. Same old.

This was my point exactly. Are there a high number of non renewals?

I have every year. The only difference in the email is that they offered to come to you.

The ticket office is in dire need of an overhaul.

Forgot to mention-I got one phone call after 30 years regarding whether I was going to renew from a obviously lower level rep (maybe even a temporary person). 90 second conversation.

It seems several folks in this thread want to pass judgment yet don't attend the games.

I sit in section 211, row A, seats 5 and 6.

I'll be downsizing from 4 to 2 Tigers season tickets and adding 2 Grizzlies season tickets.

That, and I live in Atlanta now :(

Then why in the heck did you ask the question?

If you wanted to start a paranoid thread about attendance being down, why weren't you honest enough or brave enough to just do it?

He just gave you his seat info. Why don't you be honest or brave enough to go ask?
