FSU using GPS technology to optimize training

This stuff sounds like it's the future of athletic training and is a tangible example of how the big boys will have an advantage over the mid-majors. Unless a deep-pockets mid-major donor steps up of course.

Schools like FSU have always had an advantage over mid-majors when it comes to funding for training. It's nothing new. I'm not going to worry too much about it.

Many sports have been using it. Soccer is one of them. They track how far the player runs, how many sprints the player does. Watch the world cup. When a player comes off the field, they tell you how many Kms he ran in the game.

It wasn't that long ago that FSU was at the mid major level.

Is "wasn't that long ago" over 35 years ago? Because that's quite a long time in sports years.

At first I thought this was going to be something like what the NBA does and what MLB is getting into with cameras and tracking and highly advanced analytics. FSU's thing is cool- but there's something even more revolutionary that's going to happen before long.
