Why A Gray Field?
Should this really have been the first priority? What other improvements should we focus on?

Also why dont we recolor the track green? I think if we are to keep the track we may as well make it look less high schoolish. Maybe Green seats?

RE: Why A Gray Field?
Just to make it clear, I like the concept but I'm not sure its the first improvement we should have made.

From what I understand, the current turf was at the end of it's "life"... A new surface was needed regardless of the color. I suppose they knew this, and figured now was a better time than ever to explore the bold move.

No doubt there are other upgrades needed. But I'm sure turf was at the top of the list... If not this year, then no doubt next.

Agree and I read 500K (which I assume is the 'replacement' cost vs. a new install for a 'first timer') and I read that Washington State was considering gray (it is in one of those pay site boards so I couldn't read the whole story).

BTW, looking at the stuff from the website (sample FieldTurf) it looks like they take the green FieldTurf and 'dipped it into paint.'

I just wonder if the look will be 100% gray or if there will be a greenish tint or whatever... (I don't see that with the blue or red turf used by Boise or E. Washington, but maybe this is a 'mock up' - not the end product).

And does it really matter if we don't start winning ball games?
