OOC game payouts?
How do schools determine how much they are going to pay OOC schools to come play them? Is it based on the school, the conference they are in, the division, location? Last year ECU payed ODU $430,000 in which $180,000 of that was in the form of 4,000 tickets priced at $45.00 a piece. Also do you pay a school that is in a P5 conference or is the home and home deal considered the payout?

Home and home = no payout in the sense that neither team gets an appearance fee. Appearance fees are for one and done's, like UCF at Michigan.

We paid Montana State $400,000 last year and no idea how we came up with that number.

Not always true. Ucf paid Purdue $250k to get a 1-1.l years ago. I imagine there are many cases it isn't always even trade home and home.

Negotiated....that is about the rate to buy a game with a FCS team.

Article is a bit dated but still seems accurate as to how it works in general.

Good point. Hadn't considered a G5 paying a P5 to lure them to their home.
