I think - when talking about the fan teams you wouldn't want to be a fan of - you have to start with the 3 Big East teams now in the American (and maybe include Temple) because they are the ones who now find themselves worse off than they were in the BCS era.

The rest of us American newcomers - no matter how good or how bad our Football has been recently - find ourselves in a better situation than we were in a year or two ago.

So, I don't think UConn is such a terrible choice. And I say that with all due respect. Houston and SMU fans can empathize, they've been down that road where your conference affiliation takes a prestige hit. So can ECU, Tulane and Tusla fans, although to a MUCH smaller extent.

Anyhow, the thing to do now is to grow this thing. Keep the American in the headlines during the big bowl games and the basketball tournament. We'll all be okay.
