If ACC/B12 "conference sched autonomy" were granted....
.....this is what I'd want the Big12 to do if I were god....

- Add UCONN, UCF, USF, Cincy and BYU.

- For football, go to 3 divisions of 5.

- Conference champ for football would be 2 weekends of 4 teams....3 division winners + the highest ranked wild card.

- The 5 additions would get a lesser conference payout percentage until next tv contract but would still get more than they do now.....Big12 will try and open current contract with ESPN/Fox and, if denied, Big12 would still get new tv revenue for 3-game, 2 weekend conference championship playoff.

East Div: UCONN / West VA / Cincy / UCF / USF

South Div: Texas / TTU / Baylor / Oklahoma / Ok State

North Div: BYU / TCU / Kansas / K State / Iowa St

American and Mountain West plus a few CUSA would form the first "super conference" and get a tv contract with a tv contract revenue raise big enough to cover pie splitting plus at least a million each member per year net profit compared to currently to cover all the things the P5 want to legislate.

American Super Conf would get an autobid to a Contract/Access Bowl and the (now) "G3" would still battle for Access Bowl #6.....a 7th Access Bowl would host the American vs At-large and would rotate between, say, the Holiday Bowl and a bowl in the east, and maybe 1 or 2 more (liberty sounds like one to be added into the rotation).

Every other year - say odd years - the American would play the G3 representative in this rotating 7th Access Bowl, with a P5 at-large playing our champ on even years.

Oops! Probably should have "off topic'd" this but American was involved in my fantasy.

But, also, should probably be in a "realignment" bucket, but, my main hope is for an American super conference to get more revenue per member plus an auto-bid to the Access Bowls.

There's a conference re-alignment board.

A thread about Big12/ACC realignment by an MWC fan in the AAC forum. This won't get moved.

Interesting that the OP's team isn't included in his fantasy.

Texas doesn't like to share $$$... I think Texas would want out if this ever took place and probably OU too.

So all 12 MW to AAC (Hawaii = football-only), Army (football-only), ODU, Charlotte, UTSA, UTEP, Marshall and Southern Miss....that's 26....need 2 more....who else?

I think Georgia St and FAU for recruiting grounds?

I stipulated the 5 additions would get a smaller share of B12 conf revenue until next tv contract but more than they get currently.

I suppose ESPN/Fox might be willing to open up current tv contract to help a bit....4-team, 2 weekend conference football championship playoff would earn some money and interest for sure.

Also depends what happens with upcoming B1G tv contract....if Fox ends up taking the whole B1G, ESPN may want to do something like this and beef up their B12 content.
