'Word' is that Skal has beefed up both in body and mind. We *have* to get this guy. If for no other reason than Satan wants to trammel his soul and Uncle Wes wants his Earthly contract.

Both Braxton Blackwell and Dedrick Lawson have done a tremendous job defending Thon Maker. Have shut him down thru 2/3 of game #NBATop100

Really want Skal, he's gonna be a hell of a player. That being said, you can't really tell from that video, but Thon Maker is awesome. I've never seen a 7 footer with the ball handling and shooting touch he has.

Thon Maker looked like a young version of Kevin Garnett to me in that video

Kentucky is so loaded at the Big position. Also I am not worried about UK getting seriously involved anymore with Skal. They are really hitting Dialo and Braggs. Zimmerman would be the wild card for UK and the there is Stone and possibly Thon Maker. UK fans have written Skal off along with their insiders.

Tweets from UK recruiting writer for Lexington Herald-Leader.

Ben Roberts @NextCats
Skal Labissiere says he was in contact w/ Orlando Antigua a lot before he left. Now, Calipari has taken over most of the recruitment.

Ben Roberts @NextCats
2016 five-star Dedric Lawson is down to just Memphis & UK. Says when his brother committed to Memphis, UK was only school to stay in touch.

Ben Roberts @NextCats
Will 2015 forward Skal Labissiere take a visit to Kentucky before his college decision? "Maybe," he said. No promises.

Ben Roberts @NextCats
Labissiere still hasn't really taken any visits outside of Memphis and has none planned. Hopes to commit somewhere in November or December.

Sounds like Johnny Boy (and crew) will apply full court pressure.

Love that when asked if he plans a trip to UK, Skal says "maybe".

RE: Skal vs Thon Maker: Skal vs Karl Towns
Yes but (from the linked KY article) ->

Kentucky offered Labissiere during his sophomore season after legendary Tennessee high school coach Terry Tippett gave his old acquaintance John Calipari a heads up on the unique prospect.

Calipari offered after the first viewing, and that interest hasn't waned.

Labissiere said the UK coach keeps in regular contact with his guardian, Gerald Hamilton, who is handling the college recruitment.

UK and Memphis have long been considered the favorites, but Labissiere said several new schools — such as North Carolina, Florida, Kansas and UNLV — have entered the mix in recent months.

He hasn't taken any campus visits outside of hometown Memphis, and he said he probably wouldn't plan any until he's finished with his summer schedule.

When asked if Kentucky would definitely get one of those visits, an indecisive "maybe" was the best Labissiere could muster.

"To be honest, I'm wide open right now," he said.

Ok enough of this boring stuff....Skal is gonna be a Memphis Tiger, and that's that like I said from the beginning.....Also Skal will be darn good no question about that, but He is not as good as Thon Maker.....My Man Josh Jackson and Thon Maker do not come around ever so often.....Josh Jackson and Thon Maker are Difference Makers and Game Changers, with Unreal ability you just can't coach....They are born that gifted.....2016 is the most special class in sometime, you got My man Josh Jackson, and Paul and Andre say is working even harder, and now turning it up another notch, Thon Maker, then at 3 you got Harry Giles, 4 Jayson Tatum, and solid at 5 you got Seventh Woods them guys are head and shoulders above everyone else and really the true Standouts of the class of 2016....and then at either 6 or 7 heck maybe 8th you got Dedric Lawson who is Plenty of upside to his game.....And that's the real skinny around, and I'm at the circuit ok.....One Dream, One Team, Memphis....All for one, One for all, All for Memphis....The World Is Ours Memphis....

More Top 100 Camp notes on Dedric Lawson, a possible UK package deal for 2016 and Danjel Purifoy http://bit.ly/1jDs1EK

KY reporter ->

There's only two

Most of the top recruits in the class of 2016 are still sifting through dozens of scholarship offers, months away from narrowing their choices to a manageable number.

Not Dedric Lawson. He's already down to two.

Lawson's brother K.J. — a four-star player in the class of 2015 — committed to hometown Memphis last October. K.J.'s decision had a major impact on Dedric's recruitment.

"When my brother committed to Memphis, everyone else just automatically thought that I was going to Memphis," Dedric said. "So other schools stopped calling, except for Kentucky. They stayed on me, came to my games and came to my school."

The younger Lawson is the No. 4 overall prospect in 247Sports' class rankings. He's a versatile 6-foot-9 player who can be effective from both forward positions.

Both Lawsons will be leaving Memphis this summer to play at Arlington Country Day in Florida. The prep school powerhouse plays a national schedule, and Dedric is excited about the upgrade in competition for his junior season.

And he hopes John Calipari continues to stay interested in his recruitment.

"I've been following Cal since he had Derrick Rose," he said. "Calipari is a great coach. I love his system. I love the way he lets his freshmen get out there and play. He lets them play through mistakes, and by March they be rolling."

Is that the same Gerald Hamilton that played at Whitehaven HS , class of '94?
