JUCO enrolls at Memphis?

What's the question? I never heard of the guy, but it sounds like a success story of sorts to me, and certainly not uncommon.

High school football star ignores grades, gets no offers, barely graduates from HS, scrapes into a junior college, and doesn't play football. Then he makes his grades as a juco, sends audition tapes to 4-year colleges, and gets a walk-on spot with his hometown team.

He keeps his grades up, finally earns a scholly, and eventually graduates. What's not to like?

Like I said, sounds like he recovered fairly well from a major HS screwup, although I never heard of him. He wasn't on last year's roster, and I looked back through ten years of our football stats. Nothing there, so if the story is true, he didn't play a skill position, or perhaps he never got into a game.

But whatever "story" there is seems to have been explained in the article, assuming it is accurate.

That's just wrong. "Coming off a big bowl win". You know that's old...

Yeah, I don't remember the guy, and I went back 10 years looking at stats. He either played a non-skill position, or didn't get in any games, and it was a good while ago, at best.

Seems like an old non-story, other than the guy overcoming his own mistakes. But the article left out those inconvenient little facts, lol.

Is this story a joke? Why would he mention walking on here and include a photo of him in a TSU uniform, but fail to mention anything about TSU in the article?

Who knows? Like I said, I never heard of the guy, and if it's even partially accurate, it happened years ago, and didn't involve anything other than the guy overcoming bad grades he had in high school, through supposedly a conventional, run of the mill route.

I don't understand what the story is, either, other than propping up this particular kid, for whatever reason.
