Without reading through most of that, I can guarantee you that most Buckeye fans are not going to be excited about trading games against Wisconsin/Nebraska/Iowa/Minnesota/Northwestern/Illinois/Purdue/etc for games with UConn. It's not that there is anything wrong with UConn, but we already are going to a schedule with 3 locked in east coast teams, 2 of which we have zero history with. Fans were not behind the Rutgers/Maryland additions and they won't be for going to 16 unless you bring in some top level football schools. Message board discussions are kind like risk, with fans talking about the Big Ten capturing that territory and the SEC that, and the ACC, etc, but when you actually get to the schedule, most Buckeye fans are fairly underwhelmed this year with a line up that does not have us play a long time Big Ten school this year till November (again not a problem with the schools we've added, but we're sacrificing games we're longed cared about for these new locked games).
School presidents don't think the same way, but I think they only expanded last time out of a fear they were being left behind (the ACC taking every big east coast school, threatening Penn State's place in the conference long term) and that same concern isn't there anymore.
