Last time I checked I wasn't anywhere close to the cap.

Already started. I went over last month. First 50GB is free. $10 for each additional 50GB. I am one of those Netflix watchers.

Yikes! I have 300 G and the most I have ever used is 69.

This is not new. I got a notice of this at least a year ago. Thankfully, it does not affect me, as I have only been over 100 GB once.

How can you check how much you've used?

Sounds like you may have to go into your Netflix settings and turn down the visual quality of the shows you are watching.
It should help ease your bandwidth issues.

This is such a great initiative by Comcast and the cable companies. America is getting dangerously low on interwebs. It is good that we are conserving the interwebs now before we deprive this nation of it's unnatural resources. You greedy Netflix watchers will no longer be able to steal resources to get completely legal and superior services while true Americans pay $200 a month for cable.

I honestly don't think this cap will affect many people. If you have a big household with lots of devices or share WiFi with your neighbors you might have problems.

You can click on View Details and it will show you your usage for the last 3 months.

It's a bit of a worry that Comcast doesn't have a lot of competition around here. There is UVerse but they aren't in a lot of locations and really aren't expanding that much since running fiber ain't cheap. They are also not as fast as Comcast. That leaves you with the DSL option which isn't a good one.

It one street over from me, but not on my street. Really pisses me off.

Switched from Comcast to AT&T Uverse TV and Internet last Friday after 12 years with Comcast. Had to have someone out or swap something at the office at least 3 or 4 times a year. It was getting pretty old but I loved the internet speed when it was working. We started having signal issues with our hd channels on tv and the internet stopped working once again, maybe just unlucky but they sure didn't seem to care. Made the call and had Uverse two days later. Our last bill with Comcast was $227, 3 years ago it was $177, kept going up for what appeared to be nothing. Got Uverse for $100/mo first year. Supposed to be $150/mo after that, probably get rid of some channels at that point. Pretty cool setup, one wire to house for main tv box and internet, then 2 more rooms with wireless recievers and can use the dvr from any TV. Took the guy an hour and half, showed us how to use the remote and set our internet password and he was gone. So far so good.

It's cool to love movies, but you are welcome to come out and support Memphis music with me any time. 200 restaurants and music venues downtown, with many more in Overton Square and Cooper-Young. Sundays at Huey's in East Memphis there is usually a really good band playing Memphis jazz and blues and rock. Not to mention the Levitt Shell free music, Thursday nights in Overton Square, Trolley Night downtown, the special nights in Cooper-Young, plays at Hattiloo, Theater Memphis, Playhouse, movies, museums of every kind (watch them make guitars at Gibson, Belz's hidden Judaic and Oriental museum, the Cotton Museum, Rock 'n Soul Museum, Fontaine Home, Ornamental Metal, art museums in our parks), and charitable events all over town. Sunset on the river bluff or seen from the Madison Hotel rooftop, the late-night crowd at Earnestine & Hazel's, Mollie Fontaine's Lounge in an 1870 mansion. SO much to do in Memphis!

I just wish Comcast would quit calling my phone trying to get me to upgrade my modem so they can get me hooked up to be an Xfinity broadcasting wifi for anyone within range of my house, like the grand, misguided experiment they are running now in some state I read about.

They are real sneaky and ambitious and don't care a bit for their customers.

I've never heard about that, but damn if they didn't make my router into a public hotspot...I just disabled it...thx for posting that.

They can only do it if it's their router. We have our own....too bad for them.

f-comcast. ditched them years ago and never looked back. att-uverse is the ticket

You call support at Comcast and they also try to upgrade you now.
