What Comcast needs is competition...if Memphis had Time Warner, Verizon, ATT, Comcast, Charter, etc...I think you would see a lot of the issues go away due to competition.
I doubt it, since Comcast is consistently rated as horrible customer service all over the country. It's not just a local problem.
Cable companies lease the cable lines from the city/county in an agreement where only one cable provider can exist. That's why there is only one provider in each area (and a lack of competition-->lower customer service)
If it were possible, a couple cable companies competing would be amazing!

I wish.....
U-verse is garbage. Their infrastructure is crap. My father-in-law bought in and after months and months of trouble finally saw the light and got Directv and Comcast internet.
I've had the same for years. No problems. Superior HD quality. Every channel I need. And much much faster internet that isn't bogged down with TV, phone, etc.
I have had the same for a number of years except for the short time that I dropped Direct TV to get a better rate and upgrade. The only problem is not being able to use the WatchESPN app since Direct TV is my TV provider.
