Gym in Midtown...
I'm in the process of moving to Midtown and I'm looking for a gym. Any recommendations?

I have a friend who loves Inside Out - there's also Inbalance Fitness, and a French Riviera on Union, and Power Life Fitness on Poplar right at the Union/Walnut Grove viaduct.

There are also places like Cardio Barre, Midtown Yoga (two locations, both on Cooper), and Push Pilates that are more specialized places.

I go to French Riviera. It's on Union across the street from chik fil a.

It's small and a little crowded at peak hours. The folks are friendly though, and I think you get a good bang for the buck.

Welcome to midtown! We love it.

Also, the Kroc Center has workout facilities, basketball court and an indoor pool. Overton Square has a couple of new yoga facilities.

Jeez...I forgot about even mentioning the Kroc, and that's where my family has a membership. Duh.

There is a health club in Poplar Plaza which seemed okay when I used to go there. Join Second Presbyterian Church and you can use their gym and small workout room. ;-)

Welcome to Midtown! There is a lot of fun awaiting you!

Had a membership to French (Poplar Plaza and Union) and now have one to Kroc. French is cheaper (assuming no kids) and is open more hours. Kroc has pool and more classes (if you care about that) and free childcare if you are into that.

Also another vote for the Kroc. Wonderful place for adults and kids.

We are about to renew our membership.

The French on Union. It's smaller, but if you avoid peak times it's great. A big middle finger to the yoga classes on Mondays and Tuesdays though.
Sign up for the 2 year VIP plan and it's only $180 every year and a half, plus you can use the gym on Highland/Poplar which is larger and more hours if need be.

The Kroc is ok, better if you're a family of four or really want to swim.

Inside Out is overpriced with old equipment.
