Joe Schad was asked who he would invite to the Big 12 (as the pressure for them to expand will grow when odds are, the P5 Committee will give Final Four bids to teams from conferences with extra Championship Game, ala SEC, ACC, Big Ten, & Pac-12), and he mentioned both Cincinnati and UCF as 11th and 12th teams.

UCFSports.com publisher put out a free article on Monday's College Football Live Show that mentioned Cinci and UCF as targets.

Has comments/script copy from those on the show:

Schad: Big 12 should expand with UCF, Cincinnati

03-lmfao pack your bags.

You certainly laugh at the strangest things.....

Same UCFSports.com Publisher might have been way ahead of the game when he wrote this article back in May 2010:

Big 12 should look to UCF, USF
https://ucf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1081492

Funny thing about above article...Most USF fans (maybe you were one) laughed at the idea that USF would be in a future conf with UCF.

I think now we know why they were laughing (hiding how afraid they would be if UCF ever had the same conf advantage as USF).

You do not know me at all.
First off I laugh because what you have linked has no effect on what the Big 12 will do.
Secondly I laugh because I don't believe that the Big12 will expand in next few years as they await to see the playoffs results and their current tv media deal to end.
Thirdly while I think UCF and USF could be good targets for the Big12 in the FUTURE. I rather concentrate on the today, which is the 2014 season in the AAC.
Finally, IF UCF gets picked by the Big12 and not USF well more power to you guys, we will survive just like you guys did while we were in the Big East.

At the end of the day both UCF and USF are going to continue to grow and I have no doubt that both will be in a P5 conference eventually.
04-cheers

Here's another free article from UCFSports.com publisher which recaps Tuesday's ESPN College Football Live which did an entire segment on the State of FL and where teams were ranked and why:

He recaps all comments/quotes in article below:

Every year is different. Let them enjoy their success from last year, the odds are that they won't match it

If the Big 12 goes to 12, their TV partners will tell them who to invite period.

Probably true...as players like Blake Bortles who leave a year early for the NFL and become the 1st QB taken in the NFL Draft are not that easily replaced.

UCF might win 8 games this year...which still might be best for #2 in the State of FL this season.

Also looking at this from a positive angle for the AAC ... There are two other "G5" schools in the state of Florida that aren't even in the conversation here. Granted CUSA is not an ESPN property, but still keeps the American schools/conference in the conversation. Now if UH has a good run this year, maybe you'll see something similar with the "State of Texas Football"
