great outlook

Yup and I am sure you would agree. Do everything humanly possible to make it to P5 or see your school slip into oblivion having done it the "right" way when other schools are outspending us 2 dollars to 1. If you would rather pick the second then you are foolish.

sorry...I disagree. If wanting a clean program and not cheating to get ahead makes me foolish, so be it.

Seems like you complain the most about not being P5. UC athletics would sell its soul to get a P5 membership

what UC does or doesn't do has nothing to do with me...I'm not UC. I said I wouldn't cheat to get ahead. If UC does that, I would be disappointed. Guess that's were you and I differ.

Right....and I hope you express your disappointment by not going to FB games when Virginia Tech or Louisville come to Nippert. Maybe I am overly cynical, but this world is not ideal or very clean.

I believe Kelvin Sampson and Ruffun McNeil are from the same county; Robeson County, NC.

enjoy him while you can....then he will get busted for cheating and that will be that

1. What he did is not against the rules anymore.

2. I am sure any more let’s call it "shady" activity would result in a much stiffer suspension this time around. So I am sure our program will be squeaky clean during Sampson’s tenure.

The real question is can we keep him long term or is Houston a stepping stone to another job by proving he can coach at the collegiate level again and operate within its parameters.

Now that is a question that would be debatable.

Let's see, you go from hc at IU to hc at UH....hmmm wonder why?

Still 100x more relevant than Mick Cronin. The only coaches ahead of him are Larry Brown and Kevin Ollie in this basketball conference

Kind of like going from Auburn, to Texas Tech, to Cincy.

30 years if you really want to add it up.

Tuberville walking out on a table full of recruits at a Lubbock steakhouse was massively classless. There ain't no way to spin that. Even Todd Graham winced when he heard the story.

RE: Coach Kelvin Sampson to the incoming freshmen at UH
Yeah, I'm such a Texas Tech fan that I set up http://coogit.proboards.com/, have seats in the lower bowl at TDECU stadium on the 45 yard line, have been a UH season ticket holder for God knows how long, donate a crap load to Cougar Pride, and serve 10 cases of free PBR at each tailgate.

Oh, and I have a degree from UH too.

Let me check my class ring...it says University of Houston, not Texas Tech.

Oh crap, this thread just turned into an "I'm a better Coog than you" thread.

Have a nice day.

I think you are correct. I believe he is a Lumbee Indian. He was on a hire list at ECU at some point. Very impressive fellow.
