FCS has an 11 game schedule and no conference championships allowed

Ah....I was thinking of the playoffs included but actually most FCS teams play 12 games for regular season not 11.

nope. only get to play 12 on certain years in some kind of rotation. After 2014 it will be 2019 before they can play a 12 game schedule again. Most years they play an 11 game schedule

"Notable changes[edit]
For 2013, the FCS playoffs expanded for the first time since 2010. The Pioneer Football League champion now receives an automatic bid into the FCS playoffs, which increased to 24 teams.

Under a standard provision of NCAA rules, all FCS programs were allowed to play 12 regular-season games (not counting conference title games) in 2013, and also in 2014. In years when the period starting with the Thursday before Labor Day and ending with the final Saturday in November contains 14 Saturdays, FCS programs may play 12 games instead of the regular 11. After 2014, the next season in which 12-game seasons are allowed will be 2019.[1]"

Wiki has been known to have an error now and then

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_NCAA_D...all_season

but then there are the NCAA rules adopted in 2012-2013
PDF section 17.9.5 page 270

2. In championship subdivision football, a member institution shall limit its total regular-season playing schedule with outside competition during the permissible football playing season in any one year to 11 contests (games or scrimmages), except as provided for member institutions located in Alaska and Hawaii, under Bylaw 17.27.2, and except as provided for all members under Bylaw 17.9.5.2. Twelve football contests shall be permissible during those years in which there are 14 Saturdays from the first permissible playing date through the last playing date in November (e.g., 2013, 2014 and 2019). (Revised: 1/12/99 effective 8/1/02, 8/5/99 effectiv

I guess they could have changed them last year but I think you are incorrect and Montana fans confirm next year is an 11 game season to me

The question was can college football be extended and you only talk about FCS. And they could be changed also with a vote and a stroke of a pen. You fail to see the forest for trees. 07-coffee3

Read the whole thread. I quoted and was responding to MWCTEX post about expanding the number of games since the FCS does it. Well the FCS plays fewer season games and no championship games. Context here man.

Anything can be changed but to say hey they do it now was incorrect
