If they wanted to 'get Cal', there's been worse things come to light than this they could've jumped on ... the way I see it, the NCAA is fine with the way things are right now.

Nah, most players on our roster, or anybody else's, who got paid, usually keep it to themselves. And even if they blab, meh...look how hard the NCAA is coming down on UNC for Rashad McCants' accusations.

Of course, maybe the NCAA would like to nail Cal, lol. But the only punishment they could mete out would be on us. Nothing happening here...

Funnier things have happened. They got the BCS to strip a school of its national championship (although USC still retains its AP national championship from that season)

Cal didn't pay players. That is what our boosters are for. Hell, it happens so much (majority of colleges worth a flip) I am surprised that people are even bringing this up.

If that article is correct and it was a "$5 per pound lost" arrangement, by my calculations Pierre owed Cal about $175 by the time Cal left for UK.

That Cal paid/pays players should be of no surprise to anyone.

Niles has always been a punk. I guess calling pastner a little white B in practice wasn't enough for him.

Seems like it all boils down to this-- there might be some internal squabbling among the Nileses. The details didn't stick in my brain, but the last thing I read was Pierre tweeted he didn't know who said that Cal paid him to play here...something to that effect.

Those who know have declared that the whole thing is a big nothing and will continue to be so.
