Spurs
Spurs just shot 76% and hung 71 on Miami, in the first half of game 3 tonight. But like Hubie Brown once said, 'that's why they play 2 halves'.

RE: Spurs
so far so good
Adam Silver will make sure this series goes seven games
and before the "fixed crowd" intervenes, this is too obvious - it's not fixed, it's "influenced" (TY Jeb)
If I'm wrong about going to Seven, then pile on me all you want. But what if it does?

RE: Spurs
Spurs only scored 40 in the 2nd half but still good enough for a 19 point victory.

Just curious... How do you fix a game so one team shots a record percentage in the first half of a Finals game?

Never said the game last night was fixed. Just part of the natural "ebb and flow" of the series.

Yeah the NBA made the Spurs shoot 75% in the first half.

RE: Spurs
Nothing else to do but give SA props for their shooting last night.
They shot lights out and built far too big a lead. Sure some poor defenses seuences by Miami but even when shots were contested they went in.
If they make 19 of their first 21 shots in the next game- they will win again.
That is highly unlikely.

Pulling for the Spurs in this series, not a LeBron fan.
But it seems like when you are playing the Spurs Genobli kills you and when you root for him he's cold as ice. He did make a few nice plays.

Genobli...I don't know. He's just a freak of nature who happens to be able to ball.

I now plead a mea culpa. I didn't know how efficient and excellent the Spurs really are.
For those who thought or think LeBron James is the best ever, this series should squelch any argument for that. Michael Jordan would NEVER let his team lose at home, especially twice and certanly not in humiliating fashion.
LBJ might have all the physical intangibles, but he doesn't come close to MJ's assasin like skills.

RE: Spurs
Time to move on folks.
Jordan has been retired for quite some time.
Why folks get so threatened by LeBron James is beyond me. He is in his prime- likely to be on a title contending team for the next 5 some odd years, and is one of the best players ever. Time to credit San Antonio for making so many shots- they are earning the title so far.
While unlikely, where will all the haters be if Miami wins the next three?
Jordan was fantastic in his prime. The Bulls were great. Which has nothing to do with Miami and James right now.

Because ESPN and Lebron fans has tried to make it like he is better than MJ or at least its a foregone conclusion that he will be. Since MJ is arguably the best ever to most sports fans (some say Wilt or Big O) they are basically saying Lebron is the greatest of all time which is ridiculous at this moment. LB is great and the best player in the league but he is no MJ as far as his killer instinct or the best ever. He has a long way to go

How long can you use it and still get the physical intangible benefits, I wonder. I haven't done much research on it. But are mood swings a side effect or does Bron just have a pouting nature...?

RE: Spurs
Let me state for the record that I am not a LeBron hater. He is an extremely talented player, and I appreciate the skills he has. That being said, even if he wins 10 NBA championships before he retires, I'd still take Jordan any day of the week. I just simply think he was better in his prime. If I were picking a team, I'd start with Magic, Michael and Larry and go from there.
I don't think anybody saw the a$$-whippings coming by the Spurs, in Miami no less.

RE: Spurs
Because ESPN and the powers that be did not tout Jordan????
You worshippers are proof that they did exactly that.
LeBron James is a fabulous basketball player in his prime. Which means he has a number of years left to likely be at a championship level- even if that does not translate into a championship every year.
He is the ONLY one who can be mentioned asone who COULD end up being one of the best ever, and it seems as though that is what scares the ESPN NBC brainwashed Jordan sycophants over a decade later.
You cannot seriously complain about media promoting James without realizing they did the same if not more with Jordan. And Jordan earned it, as is James. Wait 5 more years. Then careers can be reviewed.
Magic sure. Larry Bird better than James for his career? Er, no. But that does not in any way mean Larry Bird was not a fantastic basketball player. For him to remain ahead of James for a career would basically require James to retire right now.
For a career- in my lifetime of being old enough to even understand basketball- Jordan has been the best. Abdul-Jabbar a hair behind. The only other player to threaten that duo is James...and we shall see after five more seasons. He is certainly not there if his career ends tomorrow- as he would only have four MVPs, 2 NBA titles and three other finals runs. Pretty shabby set of accomplishments for someone in the beginning of their prime.
