Does experiential knowledge add value?
To have perfect knowledge of something, does one have to experience it? Or is an academic knowledge sufficient for a perfect knowledge of something?

Having just taught a teenager to drive, I answer with some authority, hell, yes.

I would say emphatically 'yes'. And too much of academia (and now the general populace) believes they know something about a subject simply by reading about it.

As I get older, I shy away from making claims without experiential knowledge.

For the record, I’m fine with my less than experiential knowledge of stuff... particularly death.

Oh sure. He'll claim that conservatives don't know about something b/c they haven't experienced it firsthand.

Of course he'll make several logical fallacies w/ his claim, but he'll ignore them all b/c he's from Memphis.

You mean like liberal indoctrinators on college campuses that aren't responsible enough to maintain a career outside the cocoon of academia?

So do christians believe their god is absolutely omniscient given that experiential knowledge adds value beyond academic knowledge? I would think not.

It's pretty clear you think not.

This is like those questions they teach you about in high school, "Do you walk to work or carry your lunch?"

Should our "black democratic president" have served in the military so he had adequate knowledge of how to handle the bergdahl situation, or was the ignored expertise of members of the military and intelligence community enough?

FWIW, I'm not going to bust my cancer doctors balls for not having had cancer, nor my plumber fixing my leak because his pipes have never burst.

don't fall for the foolishness, folks!

So none of you christians want to talk about your god lacking experiential knowledge? Or is experiential knowledge suddenly not so important?

It's not an either/or. I will say that experience trumps academics almost every time though...

that's why I pay people....I haven't changed a bit in my thought process since 2nd grade (albeit, I am much more experienced now)....wasn't too hard to figure out how to surround myself with those that knew more than myself to help me make money....

that starting at the bottom has value....but it's a 'now' society we live in...that's what's so fkd up....people don't look in the mirror enough....neither did their parents....
