RE: Non-Conf Basketball
I really would love to see us establish something with other mid majors like Indiana State, Murray State, Wisconsin Green Bay, Belmont, Middle Tennessee State.....or even a few bigger schools like Georgia, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Boston U or Boston College, Nebraska, Missouri.....like the idea of stepping up but not going in just for a paycheck and a waxing!

RE: Non-Conf Basketball
I think the MAC should pair up with a similar league like the Missouri Valley or Horizon and schedule something like the Big Ten-ACC challenge. Each team in the MAC gets a couple games with the other league, ideally home and away games with teams at a similar spot in the standings. And if they did it with a league in the region, and scheduled them all over a week or so, maybe it would get some notice in the news.
And, I think it would be good to schedule a couple games against some of the lower-ranked teams in the major conferences...Penn State and Nebraska rather than Wisconsin and Ohio State, or Notre Dame and Georgia Tech instead of Duke and Syracuse.

I love those ideas......and scheduling against the lower ranked teams in major/power conferences will give us a higher rpi and help with recruiting.....not scheduling Malone.....but I understand that even most of the power conferences have their cupcakes as well!

Nothing wrong with eating a big cupcake. It worked well for us at WV & Nebraska. Not sure why we abandoned that the last 2 seasons.
I think Malone was an exhibition game when I was in school. Funny... In that sad sort of way.

The Malone game is part of the Men against Breast Cancer tournament so I doubt Kent chose who would participate.
