We have four games that s/b gimmies this year. Steal two more, which I think is feasible and a reasonable expectation, and you have a six win team. No excuses.

I would like to be optimistic and agree with you, but have yet to see evidence our coaching staff can win "gimmies" much less "steal" wins.

Maybe by November?

Kind of my point, four pathetic programs that we should expect to beat. Especially in year two. No way can anyone, even the Peejaholics here, realistically give coach and his staff a pass for those games.

Hopefully "buffoonish" can beat "pathetic" this year.

Doesn't matter if he wins in regards to how he is viewed by some and it has nothing to do with sniveling. I stated a fact. Certain people do not respond to his way of doing things. He could go 10-2, win the west and at Ford Field...and certain people will be thankful and happy that we won, but they would still prefer a different personality. There's nothing wrong with this. It just gets exhausting on a message board.

Emu home, should be a win
Miami on the road. Should be , but it's on the road
Murray. Know nothing about them, but likely a win.
Idaho. A clone of us minus the extraordinary freshmen class.

Steal one from OU at home and CMU on the road.

Intangibles- UT loses Fluellen, Reedy, and Owens. BSU and NIU lose two very good QBs. Who can field a game ready team at Purdue.

Central is the enigma for me. I watched the first quarter against them and wonder how we can hang with them. I watch the rest of the game and wonder how we could lose to them.

I watch the first half of the CMU vs UT game and wonder how we could hang with them. I watch the second half when Rush was fumbling and bumbling and wonder how we could lose to them.

I see 3, maybe 4 wins... anything more than that in year two is gravy.

No way, those four programs are pathetic, we lose to any of them and this is a fail. Each of them would be "Nichols State style" of a loss. Nice try. Peejaholic.

"Year two"? Three of those are in similar or worse shape, and Murray State is a "W". C'mon, doesn't matter what year it is, and beating CMU there is not out of the realm, then OU as Dip said, we have six and you guys are singing your boy's praises as coach of the year.

Why is that so hard to want?

Purdue might be pathetic than us but I see one win till the staff shows us something different. I don't think vegas will have us favorites in any other game at least not fbs games.

Murray State should be a win
EMU should be a win
Between Idaho, CMU, and Miami we should win 1, but 2 would be nice.

Regardless of how bad Idaho is, it is difficult to go out west and pick up a W. Anyone remember the NIU vs. Idaho game last year? CMU and Miami are bad, but so are we! And both are on the road.

Do you forget we were 1-11 last year? Now we should win 6 games? Why?

If we win 6 games this upcoming year, you bet I'll be signing his praises. Would be a hell of an improvement regardless of strength of schedule considering the team we fielded last year.

Doolittle Year 2. Uzelac year 2. Darnell Year 1. Cubit Year 1.

It's been done before. Here.

You saying Fleck not as good as some of his predecessors?

You're free to have your own personal expectations, but this is a different set of circumstances and you know that very well.

Same page. I really don't like the way the schedule lays out. Home field comes late and in fits and starts. Those November games we might win are always chancy due to weather and the injuries accumulate. A win at Mount Pleasant is rare even in the best of times. A bad record early and we don't get fan turnout for those late home games. Idaho and Miami are away, Idaho in that Wierd dome and Miami is their homecoming week, which is a big deal down there.

Only way it turns around is several of the incoming recruits are ready to go, and the team and coaching staff make steady improvement as the year goes forward. That is a lot to ask. 3-4 wins max.

RE: Jennings on board with what Fleck is rowing
We went west and beat Idaho before, that's doable. Miami is in bad shape, win there is expected. Murray State. Yeeeaaahhh. EMU, even with a HC should be a win. Go to CMU where their program is struggling to recruit and get traction? That COULD turn out well. OU has their issues, that COULD turn out well too.

That's four that should realistically be expected wins if we are progressing at all, and throw in two more surprises, we have six.

No reason to look at the total expected 4-6 wins in aggregate and say "IT'S TOOO BIG FOR YEAR TWO!!" Year two? Great recruits? 4-6 wins should be expected.

I don't know if we can win or not. We played so poorly last year. Atrocious play calling, undisciplined penalties, locking in on receivers, and on & on. The only positive about last year is that the kids never seemed to quit.

Nichols and the CMU loss (given 5 CMU turnovers at home), still scream at me. Those two games, one early in the season and the other late, defined 2013 in my mind. Seeing is believing and I will need to see improvement before I believe.

You can color me pessimistic, but willing to take one game at a time come September, until we see what we really have for 2014.

We couldn't beat them when they didn't have an HC last year. This year they have a head coach who has demonstrated the ability to win. Something we do not have, yet.
