ESPN: ACC distributes $20.8 Million per school for 2013-2014
For the WVU Fan the Big XII Average was $23 Million and not everyone received a Full Share...all Full Members including Syracuse and Pitt received a Full Share...ND received a different share...here is the link:

Also from the article:

The distributions from the ACC do not include the individual multimedia rights deals each school owns.

It's made it's way to their Big 12 board.

Its really going to be tough for the G5 to hang with these P5 schools. They are literally just printing money. Very impressive. The CFP money is going to rapidly expand that financial divide even further starting in 2014.

RE: ESPN: ACC distributes $20.8 Million per school for 2013-2014
All the P5 are in the same range. There's not enough difference now to get anyone to move.

But there are some odd parts about the story.

If the ACC distributed $291.7 and everyone got $20.8 million, that only leaves 500k for Notre Dame. I wonder if ESPN got the $291.7 figure and then messed up on the math themselves. Sportswriters aren't very good financially.

Also, the ACC has not historically distributed exactly equally. Not sure what model they use, but two years ago they distributed $16.9 million and it varied from $15.7 to $18.6. FSU was right at the average.

Article says they got $19.6 last year on average. FSU only got $18.3. Its odd that FSU would be that much below average.

Also odd that this was "disclosed" to ESPN by the league. The other conferences either have a press conference or don't say anything until the tax returns come out.

It's an equal distribution, but the travel costs for football bowl games is covered in such a way as to help to offset that specific cost - a travel fund so to speak, but it's not large. Part of what "depressed" FSU's revenue was non-sold tickets to the ACCCG, but that's another story that revolves around them taking their entire band. It's one of those things that if you owe the conference $500,000 you might pay that or you might have the conference deduct it from one of the distributions.

Yes, the ACC pays UVA more money for going 0-8 in football than national title-winning Florida State. It's true.

RE: ESPN: ACC distributes $20.8 Million per school for 2013-2014
The spread was noticeable in 2011-12, but I haven't seen disclosure for 12-13: http://www.news-record.com/sports/articl...f6878.html
The bottom line
A look at how much each of the ACC’s 12 schools received through an “allocation of general support” from the league in 2011-2012:

Clemson: $18.6 million

Virginia Tech: $18.5 million

Virginia: $17.4 million

North Carolina: $17.3 million

N.C. State: $17.0 million

Wake Forest: $17.0 million

Georgia Tech: $16.9 million

Florida State: $16.9 million

Maryland: $16.0 million

Duke: $15.9 million

Boston College: $15.8 million

Miami: $15.7 million

Clemson and VT got the most because they both appeared in BCS bowl games.

UVA gets reimbursed for travel to more conference championship events because they play so many sports.

Does the Big 12 distribution to WVU take into consideration the loan that the Big 12 gave you?

David Teel today tweeted a few of the 2012-13 disbursements apparently from the ACC tax return that he recently received.

FSU $19.5m
Clemson $18.5m
Virginia Tech $18.3m
UVA $16.8m

BTW, Notre Dame has been reported to receive 1/15th of 20% of the disbursements with its membership. If that is accurate (and doesn't adjust for their ACC football schedule not beginning until next season), than the average for this season might be more like a $20.6 million per team distribution. But it is impossible to know for sure.

People on this board have a giant hard on for WVU. We get mentioned in almost every single thread
