If it is a serious question, I will answer it.
The old BCS conferences (minus the Big East) are now calling themselves or the media is calling them the P5's or Power 5 because their champion automatically qualifies for a major bowl. The remaining FBS conferences are being branded the G5 or group of 5 because they do not automatically qualify for one of these bowls. The highest ranked school out of all the G5 schools get a slot into the access bowl to play with the "big boys". It is just a re-branding of the BCS.

RE: G5 Prediction
For all the non-ECU fans, the reason why most Pirates fans have a chip on their shoulder? Greenville, NC is less than 2 hours drive from "4" P5 schools with two being among the largest in UNC-college system. Even though ECU is the second largest university in NC, we still don't receive the funding we need from state legislators. Just in last couple of years we have been fortunate to add medical, dental schools, etc. Because of this and scheduling issues with these "4" P5 schools, most Pirates have that underdog mentality. I am a realist. I picked UC because I think they will be the best team in the conference this year. Houston and UCF could also win the league. I am thinking we have a year like 1999 with DG. That year we beat DUKE, USC, WV, and #9 Miami but lost to USM and UAB. A look back and when I became a Pirate

You're not unique. Memphis has been in the same situation for most of the last 100 years. Tennessee has its own board of Regents, and its own funding stream. Memphis is thrown in with every other university in the state, both for BOR and funding. And our P5 state university support system blocks us every other way possible, too.
I'm sure other schools here have similar situations, too. Most of us have chips on our shoulders, for some reason.
UConn, UC and USF just got left behind, after being AQ for years. Houston and SMU were in the old SWC with Texas and the boys.
Nothing unique about you guys, so stop acting like it. We're all in this together. Why not just try to get along better, and stop being so defensive?
You're preaching to the damn choir.

I guess we're all just a league of misfits! And that's OK. Just makes winning that much sweeter.

Never implied that ECU was unique, just responding to your earlier post in the thread where you called out ECU posters and I was reminding everyone why we have a few posters with purple glasses. Nothing more. Agree we are all in this together. Will try to watch all our conference mate's games when I can and pull like heck for them

I know you didn't. I was simply pointing out that the reasons you expressed for ECU fans possibly having chips on their shoulders are not unique to ECU. I only cited your post for those reasons you posted. I really wasn't addressing you personally, although it seemed like it. Sorry for the confusion.

Wait so you think the story about Holtz and long gone coaches and long gone players that probably many have mortgages and kids pushing 30 by now was a better story?
We've won 18 games the last two years with many of these same key star players returning. We were 7-1 when we were last in the same conference with most of these same teams and only improved last year with a better overall season. Why shouldn't we feel confident with Carden and Hardy back yet another year leading our team under Ruff and Riley or overall the trajectory of our program the last 2 years under these star players and the same coaches.
