Yeah, this is probably the thousandth post about how Detroit has fallen off a cliff since it's peak in the sixties, but this might be a little more jarring. Just look how much it's deteriorated in a few short years:

It took a whole lot of work to completely screw that place up so entirely. Used to be home to more millionaires than any where else in the world.

You gotta wonder how frequently he has "uninvited" guests? Do the cops even patrol out there any longer? It may simply be anarchy and wiiide open.

If you have Netflix there is a documentary about the Detroit Fire Department on there called "Burn". You wouldn't believe the conditions those guys have to work in.

It's hard to image that this is part of the U.S..

I really hope that Michigan renews the film tax incentives at some point soon. Detroit's got that urban decay ambiance that producers spend millions of dollars trying to replicate in studios. If it's there, might as well get some mileage out of it.

all by itself, detroit is almost proof that self government doesn't work. It's that bad.

Seeing those pictures where there's houses all around a neighborhood and suddenly there's only brush reminds me of the movie the Time Machine where his house is in the boonies.

A lot of footage for shows like "Life After People" and "Population Zero" is filmed in Detroit.
