D-Day
Please take some time to remember those that died on this day 70 years ago and talk to someone that made it home (assuming he's still alive).

Both of my grandfathers fought in WW2, my mom's dad was in the Army (unsure exactly where he went, never wanted to talk about the war) and my dad's dad was in the Navy. He had plenty of stories of being in the Philippines and all the kids calling everyone "Joe".

I've been to Normandy and was at the cemetery. It was the most sobering moment of my life.

RE: D-Day
My grandfather missed D-Day by a few weeks and since my mother was born after the war I consider that fortunate. He always talked to me about the war because it fascinated me.

Here's an interesting note about a veteran of the D-Day invasion.

70 years later, D-Day vet Jim 'Pee Wee' Martin jumps again
