Yep Daktronics says the Cajun board will be 1720 sq ft of video and AState's will be 1725.

A fan in the stands will not be able to tell the difference and if one is further from the field than the other, the one further away will be perceived as smaller.

LOL!!! Daktronics clearly has an inside at the Sun Belt office in New Orleans. These guys are making serious cash off of Sun Belt programs.

Company that built our last one went out of business (can't imagine why with the cool black line feature they offered).

What I like about Daktronics is they are now offering an all-in-one media creation system. High definition cameras, mixing board, ready for live streaming output that can layer in your audio which can be a dedicated announcing crew or your radio crew, the timeout signal when entered on the scoreboard control will send a code to trigger the insertion of ads on the live streaming feed.

Makes it far easier to produce a quality video feed for your school website, you can even uplink to a TV station via satellite or high bandwidth internet. Sporting KC in MLS feeds their games via internet to their TV affiliates in Missouri and Kansas.

The north board is being replaced though because it isn't compatible.

My limited understanding is this:

They are using the structure of the old video board, and replacing the face of it with video panels. The entire surface will be video board (compared to the old one with a small video board in the middle, and ads all around).

So, the crappy graphic they chose to display in the press release is not indicative of what the board can do - unless you recognize that every bit of those ads are part of the fully configurable video display.

100% of the surface of that board will be video display, and we'll be able to show as few/many ads as we choose.

Just asking for clarification. Why does the Daktronics press release for both teams differ from your numbers? It shows the State board at 32' x 50' (1600sf) and the Louisiana board at 30' x 54' (1620sf).

Either way, both have ours beat.

Looks like we'll need fill out our frame (48' x 88') with LED panels. That would take us up from 26' x 51' (1,326 sq ft) to 48' x 88' (4,224 sq ft) in video display. Now if we can just find someone to pay for it. One can always wish. 04-cheers

All kidding aside, great additions in recent years for several of the SBC programs.

I've not figured that out. Maybe Daktronics has invented a new way to calculate sq ft.

Yeah, he was exposed that day. If Drinkwitz had called that game we likely win. Definitely would have at least been a nailbiter.

I think it would have been close, Tiggerville played extremely well that day, especially in the first half.
