With the loss of Mouchantaf, we will really need Covington to be an anchor in the middle!

He's the top DT on CBS's draft board for 2016

I think we need to cross our fingers that he doesn't leave after this season.

He's a bad ash, but isn't he a little small to play in the NFL?

The top DT taken in this year's draft was 6-1, 285. Then again, that guy had about a billion tackles for loss and ran a 4.6.

Covington is 6-3 295+. He;s not a 3-4 nose tackle, but he's a prototype 3 technique or could even play 1 tech in a 4-3.

Kiper recently came out with his DT rankings for the 2015 draft and had Covington 4th among underclassmen, behind stars from USC, UCLA and Florida State and ahead of those at Oklahoma and Texas.

seems certain that we will have two draftees next year--covington and callahan.

Might Jordan Taylor be a possibility, given his length and hands?

Are we certain that Covington is declaring for the draft this year? In that case, our 2015 class is extremely important in that we would be losing Covington and all our starting defensive backfield (if Hill starts at corner).

No, not at all. But it may have to be something he considers.

I asked him about it, and he said his mom wouldn't let him since she wants him to graduate. I guess if he's drafted high enough that could change though.

He'd have to declare before the draft.
