Forgive me if I am missing something. However, is it not better for them to kidnap them? I mean, the alternative is to kill the soldiers, right?

I guess the good news is that it took a deserter walking off base in the middle of the night for the Taliban to capture a POW. I wouldn't hold my breath that the Taliban captures a soldier while performing his duties.

There isn't one genius at the White House who didn't see this coming? Not even the smartest man in the room? But if this is the game the taliban wants to play then so be it. I say that from now on we don't use troops in combat and if we see terrorists and we can hit them with a drone then go for it even if the terrorists are at a school or hospital. Let's take the gloves off and fight by their rules.

You really are a little slow aren't you? When you find out how much you can get for kidnapping a US soldier, do you not understand how that would provide extra motivation to kidnap more of them. That is why you don't negotiate with terrorists. I know that concept is going to require you to use your brain, but try it, it might just work.

Yea this has been a brutal 16 years of terrible presidents after a person of 20 which were pretty good... Maybe we're due for a change this time around..
