Sun Belt Conference sightings
I live in central NC (Asheboro) and on my way home from my office today, I pulled up behind a pickup truck ( NC tags) with a New Mexico State Alumni license frame. Have any of you come across an out of region conference mate like this lately?

In the last 6 months or so:
Georgia State plate near Jacksonville, Arkansas.
ULM plate near Russelville, Arkansas
Texas State sticker near Clarendon, Arkansas

I ran across someone in Little Rock last month that said she was going to be attending college at the University of Idaho. Does that count?

There was a guy wearing an App State shirt that attended our baseball game against the Cajuns last month.

I see Georgia Southern and Ga State all the time. But Southern is most seen even in the Atlanta area.

Outside those two I do see Troy the 3rd most, could be because they stick out at me, but there is a large alumni base here.

On a rare occasion I'll see a App State fan around.

RE: Sun Belt Conference sightings
Im in the body shop business so I see alot of bumper stickers. In Richmond, VA, aside from our two could-have-been's JMU and Liberty, the one I see the most is App State. After that, I've also seen South Alabama, New Mexico State, Texas State, Troy, and the two GSUs. One of my daughter's friend's mom went to WKU and sports their gear a lot, if they still count.

Not really Georgia Southern directly, but we had a guy come through one of my shops the other day whose car was stamped with a dealership decal from Statesboro, GA. When I tried talking football with him, he looked confused and told me he had bought the car off Craigslist and didn't know where Statesboro was or what school was there.

Incidently, a couple of summers ago, when I was running our shop up in Northern Virginia, a woman came through with an App State Mom sticker. Turns out her daughter was an incoming freshman field hockey player, we talked about App for quite sometime and she was impressed that I was familiar with the FH team and seen them play many times.

In Austin, I saw two App State bumper stickers on different cars (and by the way, thus far, you guys have the absolute worst drivers I've encountered), 1 Troy, 1 NMSU, an Idaho (believe it or not), and a UTA one.

I found it interesting no stAte, ULM or Cajun tags around.

RE: Sun Belt Conference sightings
Met a New Mexico State grad at the family lake house in Orlando for a low country boil Thursday evening. Friend of a friend. Turned out that he is the athletic director for a central Florida high school. I managed to corral him for a moment to talk NMSU sports and hopefully win some brownie points for the Eagle nation who recruits heavily in the area and recently signed one of his outstanding recruits. Assuming New Mexico is more basketball "centric" than football was unfortunate on my part. 03-banghead

Odd, same thing, but the opposite in Arkansas. I've seen lots of ULM, UALR, and stAte, but never one Texas State or UTA. See an occasional Cajun sticker.
