A&M gets head start on Fullmer Cup
Texas A&M's coach dismissed two starters after being charged with aggravated robbery. Both had been arrested before.

This is the type of thing, like Vanderbilt's group rape and the armed robbery by the 3 Tennessee players a few years ago, that will lead most college presidents to fight tooth and nail against professionalism. At least with amateurism and some version of "student"-athletes, most schools keep out the true thugs. They can't get academically eligible.

Its also the type of thing that should get coaches fired. Its one thing to recruit kids who make the same type of bad choices other college students make (public intoxication, drugs), but its entirely different when they get into true criminal activity.

Hasn't UGA dismissed half of their defense this offseason...?

No, but they have had a lot of drug and driving without licenses over the last 3/4 years. They are, with Kentucky, the strictest in the SEC on drug use.

They also dismissed Zach Mettenberger. He groped a waitress in a restaurant. He was, of course, LSU's starting QB last year.

Good one.

Maybe they can get into North Carolina and stay eligible there, but not at most places.

There's a difference between academically weak athletes and thugs. The thugs usually don't care enough they can even be considered marginal.

I think I saw where A&M and UGA were tied at 6 dismissals a piece right now.

Point the finger at other programs all you'd like, but it's clear that Sumlin has zero control over his players. Aggy has been a circus for a while now.

Gus Malzahn and Bobby Petrino couldn't be more thrilled.

Petrino is at UofL so I don't think he cares about what is going on at A&M. Malzahn on the other hand.....

Saw where the A&M Chancellor hosted a BBQ between the football team and the College Station Police (no, seriously). Have heard any remarks about it from the zoo (texags).

You can criticize Texas about a lot of things, but that is not one of them.

Sherrill had the A&M players who beat up the pizza delivery boy and stole his pizza. Although A&M has typically not been a Miami type team. Slocum was a class act.

Yeah...

Never a single thug has passed through the Mack Brown program.

You heard him folks, nothing but choir boys on the 40 Acres.

That was more in reference to UGA letting their players go. Haven't a couple gone to Auburn/UL? I know the most recent one is considering both of them...

UGA is a rarity in the SEC....a school that takes discipline seriously and isn't afraid to kick kids off the team.

Now that I have defended UGAg let me run brush my mouth out with a public restroom toilet brush to get that horrible taste out my mouth.
