Why does a young writer leave the creditability of a newspaper to become a blogger for a radio station he was already working at?

He might have had some issues with one of the Lawson articles he wrote in the CA. Apparently the Lawson family was pretty upset that Martin quoted them in a story. This might be some fallout about it. I'm just guessing though.

I wouldn't speculate that. I think protocol was followed and the Lawson's don't have suction at the CA. Kid just saw the CA as a stepping stone and off he goes. Good for him.

True but there is stuff told off the record. If something is told off the record and you write about it then you lose access to sources. Once you lose access you lose the ability to do a good job.

Actually the dad was ticked that Martin quoted one of the boys without clearing with him. Martin's side of the story is that he tried several times to contact Keelon on the matter and he never returned calls.

But if a kid is under 18, you should be getting permission from a parent or coach.
