Sun Belt non-conference schedules 2014--- who has best schedule?
Here are the 4 non-conference games for every team this year:

App. St: AWAY: Michigan, Southern Miss. HOME: Liberty, Campbell

Ark. St.: AWAY: Tennsesse, Miami HOME: Utah St, Montana St.

Ga. Southern: AWAY: N.C. State, Ga. Tech, Navy HOME: Savannah St.

Ga. State: AWAY: Clemson, Washington HOME: Abilene Christian, Air Force

Idaho: AWAY: Florida, San Diego St., Ohio HOME: Western Mich.

New Mexico St.: AWAY: UTEP, LSU HOME: New Mexico, Cal Poly

South Alabama: AWAY: Kent St., South Carolina HOME: Mississippi St., Navy

Texas St: AWAY: Illinois, Tulsa HOME: Ark-Pine Bluff, Navy

Troy: AWAY: UAB, Georgia HOME: Abilene Christian, Duke

Louisiana: AWAY: Mississippi, Boise St. HOME: Southern, La. Tech

ULM: AWAY: LSU, Kentucky, Texas A&M HOME: Wake Forest

Hardest non-conference schedule has to be ULM
Easiest non-conference schedule has to be App. St.

Different scheduling philosophies can be seen here. All teams have 2 home and 2 away except ULM, Ga. Southern and Idaho.

Who do you guys think has the best non-conference schedule?

I like ours, just wish Navy was a home game and it'd be perfect. GaSt has a pretty one and pretty much what I would want GS's to look like. 2 away 2 home.

USA has a real nice OOC. They are my pick for best OOC schedule.

ULM has a very tough OOC.

As we haven't found our footing in FBS, yet, I consider ours hard. There's only 1 game I might go out on a limb aand chalk up as a win and that's UAPB.

Best (most attractive as a fan) - USA, followed by Troy as they can drive to both away games and a P5 at home.
Worst - Idaho

Hardest - ULM
Easiest - App, but we have the hardest conference schedule

USA has a fantastic OOC schedule. I like Troys as well. ULM has a fun home game but only get one.

App States will be better next year when they dump the second FCS game.

From a pure fan's perspective South Alabama has a very nice non-conference schedule-- 2 good home games and no FCS games. One day I want Ga. Southern to have such a schedule.

Not so sure we won't have another spot on the 2015 schedule to fill here pretty soon. There is talk of Southern Miss buying out the 2nd half of our contract to play Alabama.

Hopefully if that happens, we wouldn't fill it with another FCS, but it would probably be hard to get an FBS team to come to Boone on short notice, so it's possible we end up with 2 FCS games again in 2015.

NMSU. But will never beat home games with San Diego State, UTEP, Boston College, Rice, and Minnesota in 2013.

Like another poster stated, I like USA's OOC for the fact that they have no FCS teams scheduled, kudos. We all need to move to this type of scheduling and close the door on FCS/FBS games. I can't stand my squad being on the same field as a Savannah State!

A little Nick Saban sentiment in there? Yes, for now a lot of the G5 schools need those FCS games whether we like it or not. They count towards Bowl eligibility and they are usually a win (not always). Does look pretty not having one but good luck with that.

If we want 6 home games every year unfortunately a FCS game will most likely be part of that in many years. This year we are playing 3 money games (N.C. State, Ga. Tech and Navy). In 2015 that drops to 2 and it needs to be kept at 2 or even 1 if we can afford it going forward.

Don't fully transitioned teams have to have 5 FBS home games a year?

I think you have to play 5 but 1 of the 5 can be a FCS team--- if that is wrong someone please correct me.

I know for next year we have 6 home games (4 SBC games plus Western Michigan -MAC- plus Citadel - FCS).

Yes we do have a nice schedule this year. We also get Troy at home (which will be nice for attendance). If we can avoid cr*pping the bed in the first game, we have a chance to really get to a nice place with attendance. 25k plus is a realistic goal. Next year we fall off with a FCS school and NC State. The best news for our schedule next year is that we likely won't have divisions, so we should get Ark State and ULL in Mobile next year.

Hopefully, we wont have our games marred by Hurricane Warnings and 20 degree windchills.

Believe you are right on.
Like GaSo home schedule this year in having two weeknight games. Those other four home games should have good attendance.

Pretty bad that ODU was asked to play Alabama but turned it down partly because their games were set, and that SoMiss is thinking of it evidently.

Hope Southern Miss gets to visit Boone next year and does not buy it out. At this point if they do I don't know if App. can find another FBS home game for next year--- may have to play a 2nd FCS home game.

Instead of letting Southern Miss buy the game out it would be better for App if you could agree on another year for them to come to Boone.

Wouldn't doubt SoMiss waiting to see if they can beat us this year at their home field. If so they might want to play us again more than Alabama's money. They need some wins.

I still cannot believe you guys put a buyout on that game. That's asking for a game to be dropped.

Actually if the buyout is a million bucks, then USM wouldn't be able to come up with the money. Their AD is broke.
