NIU @ Northwestern 9/6
I know its still really early, but who is planning on going? I just scooped up 3 tickets on the 50 yard line of the visitor's sideline for $21 a piece. I'm getting real pumped for football season

Going for sure. Where did you score those tickets?

I got them off StubHub. The tickets on the visitor's side are listed much cheaper than the tickets on the Northwestern sideline.

We should know by the end of Thursday.

The MAC will also be announcing the schedule for the first 3 weeks this Friday at 10am.

My wife and I will definitely be going but I am waiting for the kickoff time so I can work on a few more of our friends.

Also the time of day will determine where I sit. If its an evening game then I will sit where ever I can get the best seat. If its an afternoon game then I will sit in the West/Main stands on the South quarter so that the sun is behind us.

My brother-in-law played for NU, we're making a family day of it (we better embarass him on his own turf!)

That's fine. It's a close by opponent. I'm more concerned about beating NU. What is the payout for the Arkansas game? Now that's the real question.

Found the comments on here funny.

NU is reportedly cheap on non-conference payouts

I remembered you talking about the sun & heat from the last time we played there.
I need the same type of tickets you mention. I HAVE to have the sun behind us if it's an afternoon game.

Can you let me know which sections would be best in the West/Main stands on the South quarter when you're looking for tickets? It would be nice to have a group of us Huskie fans near each other instead of scattered. There will be at least 6 of us...possibly more if my tailgate friends are going. So I'd love to be able to buy a group of tix together too.

I'm thinking & planning for football season too. Some people think I am nuts...but I love it so much!
So I'm with you - and who cares if it's early?! COGS

Wish they'd announce game time already!!!!!

Based on timing of last years announcement by Iowa & MAC...should have this and most other games by middle of June.

Does anyone think this game will be picked up by a local network or will it just be on BTN? I'd say a 11am or 2pm start time.

I'd bet it stays BTN. MSU,MICH & OSU have marquee opponents at night. That leaves 8 BTN games with about half vs MAC & half vs typical non-con opponents.

I'd like to think we're the best game of the bunch and we'll get the 2:30pm slot....but I'm biased.

Local...no

It will be on ESPN2, ESPNU or BTN

When you can get 2 instate opponents for a total of $850K, why pay more $04-cheers

Screw Miami of Ohio, they're awful and they don't draw at home, how many fans are they going to bring to Ryan Field, 1-2 K at best. WIU will bring more for a price of only $350K and Western will probably give the Wildcats a better game than Miami will anyway.

Plus, wasn't it a fill in game anyways? Both needed opponents and NIU is trying to play the bigger conference teams. For NW it's a win-win, they paid a smaller fee and will see increased sales over many other possible week 2 opponents.

For NIU, they are at a point where they may take smaller pay checks to continue to play big conference teams and increase their footprint. Makes it all the better if they take the check and the W.
