yes, several of whom committed war crimes.

Any American prisoner of war is worth more than 5 Taliban commanders.

You do not negotiate with terrorists or do POW trades in a time of war. Worse case you stick a gps device up the a s s of one terrorist and do a trade.

This is equivalent to Alabama Crimson tide scheduling a football series Middle Tenn St. and Alabama gets 1 home game and they play @MTSU 5 times.

Or better yet, same scenario only Alabama playing UC. 02-13-banana

I couldn't disagree more. no one dies (well, not inevitably, at least) at a 5-and-1 series with bama. but people are sure to die because we have (a) negotiated with terrorists, and (b) turned 5 terrorists back to the battle field.

Maybe there are things going on behind the scenes none of us are aware of. All leaders have to appear stupid in the publics eye on occassion because they can't openly talk about what goes on behind the scenes. That's what a true leader does, they take the heat for the greater good. Not saying that happened here, but it could have . Of course if you are determined to hate, you might not think of alternatives. That is part of why hatred makes people seem so stupid. They close their minds to alternative solutions.

Obama let 5 mass murdering terrorists out of jail and he is going to make Dinesh Dsouza serve jail time because his movies hit the truth. Now lets talk about hate.

They are? I thought they were "potential terrorists"? Least that's what this current bunch of lunatics squatting in the WH has put forth.

This guy wasn't a prisoner of war.
He was a willing deserter traitor who joined the Taliban.
He will probably go back one day if he gets the chance
and will be a hero over there.

Yea, good point. And maybe I'm gonna have butterflies fly out of my ass the next time the ice cream truck comes to town.

WTF are you even talking about?

There always are other things going on. Doesn't necessarily make them important though.

So now this guy is a traitor?

Wow.

Didn't the military already determine in 2010 that this guy walked away from his unit?

My understanding however was the he may have been intoxicated.

God help the kids you are teaching.

RE: Obama: Hey, You Know Those Taliban Prisoners I Released?
(06-03-2014 09:15 AM)Fitbud Wrote:  "Some 500 detainees were released from Guantanamo during the Bush administration," Hoyer said.

We wondered if he was correct.

Indeed, government documents indicate more than 500 detainees were released or transferred from Guantanamo while George W. Bush was president. A White House executive order issued on the second day of Obama's presidency said, " The federal government has moved more than 500 such detainees from Guantánamo, either by returning them to their home country or by releasing or transferring them to a third country."

That's backed up by a fact sheet from the military task force that runs the detention camp, which says 520 detainees had been released or transferred by March 2009.

Our only quibble with Hoyer is his use of the word "released." That could be interpreted to mean that under Bush, 500-plus detainees left the center and were immediately freed. But the Pentagon says there is a difference between a release and a transfer to another country. The vast majority of detainees leave Gitmo under a transfer, which means they are transported to another country that places them under some type of restrictions. Some are incarcerated in those countries because of criminal charges, while others face monitoring or travel limitations.

But Hoyer only said "released," so we'll take him down a notch to Mostly True.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/...re-releas/

Here is the bigger point... The 5 released here were hand picked by AQ....

So Obama never blamed Bush for anything and took the heat himself?
