I give Texas State a boost because they have ULL and stAte at home, while USA has to travel to both schools.

I think most would agree with the order of 2-11, but I'm sure they just don't understand how GS could be #1. I see a lot of people putting us at 7 or 8, but I think because of our schedule we will rank higher than expected. Actually starting to get anxious for the season to start. The first game will be very telling. Will it be a long slow process learning the new system and getting used to FBS level of play or will we come out swinging and getting some early knockout blows.

In all seriousness, I don't see us finishing outside of the top 5. Of course most of the current SBC members wouldn't agree with that but "they ain't seen nothin' yet". Prior to our boost in scholarships we could still hang with/beat any of the Sun Belt members. I'm ready to get this thing kicked off as well! GATA!

If you had the same coach and offense as last year you might have a point. But you don't and that will hurt you more than you think. If you finish inside the top five you'll be bolstered much less by the talent/coaching you have and more by the fact that you don't play either Arkansas State or Louisiana.

Yes the transition could be rocky and that is why I am completely OK with our "light" schedule. We will get our crack at stAte and UL in due time but through the transition I like the idea of posting a respectable record.

yeah. I'm glad we aren't playing them. I'd rather get 7 or 8 wins not playing them, than have 5 or 6 wins with playing them, at least not during this transition year.

The Florida win was great for the SBC, but guarantees nothing. It didn't help ULM improve their record much when they beat Alabama or #8 Arkansas. They still lost to the usual suspects in the SBC. Middle of the pack sounds right, though I wouldn't be surprised to see them much lower or a little higher. They are still a big question mark as to how they'll fare with a new schedule, new coach, and new OC. Appalachian State didn't do so hot in their first year under a new coach and OC.

Their new coach was in his first season. Fritz has over 20+ years head coaching experience and has won at every level he's been in.

Fritz is the most experienced head coach we have ever had. He's not still trying to figure out how to do things. Much more polished.
