College Baseball: AAC Champ Houston Battling SEC Champ LSU For Regional Title
Houston and LSU have beaten each other once in the Baton Rouge Regional. Final game today should be a good one. The Cougars have a tough row to hoe, but here's hoping. 04-cheers

When will our fans recognize that college baseball is becoming more important every year, and act accordingly?

It has been cool having the regionals broadcast on ESPNU the last few years. I have been watching more college baseball than ever.

I have seen some good games and some great plays.

What will it take for the Tigers to make it to the next level in baseball?

Any word on if the Tigers are going to retain Coach Rock for another year? After the last 5 years with the baseball program going nowhere fast, got to wander what Bowen is thinking.

I watched a good bit of it yesterday. ESPN has their "Bases Loaded" coverage which is like NFL Red Zone. It bounces from game to game. Texas had Clemens and Calvin Schiraldi's kids both playing and both dads were in the crowd watching. Pretty neat how those guys were college teammates on a national champ team, 3 years later played in a WS with Boston, and now their sons are teammates at their alma mater.

The atmosphere at Ole Miss games is insane. How Rock or any Tiger baseball coach could get a local kid to play here if the Rebels wanted him is beyond me. 8-9K screaming, heckling the opposing team, and the beer shower is awesome. The state of Miss could get turned upside down tonight if the Rebs and Dogs both win. A super regional in Oxford with a trip to Omaha on the line. UL- Lafayette may rain on that parade though.

Some of these stadiums (LSU, Ole Miss, Rice for example) are nicer than many minor league parks.

Schoenrock beats SEC teams every year, yet we have "experts" (and trolls) suggesting that he should be fired. If our fanbase head enough pride and interest to come out to a few games each Spring, there is no telling what he could accomplish. Best sports value in town.

I do come out to several ball games each Spring and am not a troll. Personally, I would rather lose every series to Ole Piss and the Blackbears AND qualify for the NCAA regionals year in and year out.
Rock has had 5 freaking years and has not proved he can recruit quality talent to win consistently and qualify for the regionals.

In order to begin wining some of the recruiting battles for the top/elite talent and go head to head with SEC schools, we need a new head coach.

Why does Houston have to play now at Texas in the Super Regional? They finished with a better record... Were a higher seed going into the tournament... and finished the season ranked 10 spots higher in the final poll.

Plus Houston's RPI is #2. Texas is something like 10.
