Well, when you don't get hits, you don't win!

One has to think McDowell gets the start against A&M... Then it gets murky if we are lucky enough to advance.

Home from the game, and what a crushing and disappointing loss.

I know WG's program is sacrosanct around here, but how many important and close games do we have to lose thanks to anemic offense before there's a serious need for change of the hitting coach on staff?

Or also a change in recruiting. It has been painful to watch and the last couple of innings tonite, especially so. Got home at 1:45 and it will take awhile to settle down to sleep. I will show up tomorrow, but I am not hopeful given our current hitting, but......

Back from the nightmare. Left blake in too long. Tough decision to make I know with their best hitter who is a lefty to lead off the inning. But blake was out of gas. Cost us big.

Injury bug finally caught up to us. Just a tough loss to swallow right now.

We cannot keep having guys disappear in the clutch like the last 5 plus years. Not smart enough to know if it's a recruiting issue or a coaching issue, but it needs to end now.

We have never had a pitching issue, but the hitting has really pissed me off this year!! I think it both coaching and recruiting! Why can't a premiere program like ours get a better group of hitters?? BSOM!!

In theory, who do we even have left to pitch?

McDowell versus A&M. Have to hope for a complete game.

Who then?

6 hits in 11 innings doesn't deserve to win. Credit to UT's pitching though, they threw strikes and kept us at bay. Unfortunately we have several batters that are just overmatched at the plate when facing top talent.

If you think Jake Hess is a perfectly fine Division I college tennis facility, then you don't know college tennis. The Jake is about as adequate for a serious tennis program today as the old Cameron Field would be for a serious baseball program.

I think if we are to win two games today against A&M and UT, Caleb Smith is going to have to figure in the mix somehow. That's assuming he's even on the postseason roster. He has the stuff to get Aggie and Longhorn batters out. He just needs the command and confidence.

RE: Rice-UT Regional winner's bracket game
Two long droughts with no Rice hits or walks in the 3-5 and 8-11 innings. UT meanwhile was always getting men on base and forcing Rice to get out of jams. The 1st inning was the only time they went 3 up and 3 down.
