RE: Remembering Dr. Brigham
Great article. We would always see Dr. B and his wife at the rest stop near South Bend on the way back from WMU or other games in Michigan. He always said hello and would chat. He knew us and knew we were part of the NIU family.

I would really like to see a fighting Huskie logo at the home opener or homecoming this year as a tribute...
"Whenever I look at NIU’s vintage Victor E. Huskie logo from the Baby Boom era –commonly known as the “boxing Huskie” – I literally see “Dr. Bob” in every Cardinal and Black role: Student-athlete, assistant coach, head coach, athletic director, academician and special assistant to the president."

This was actually a good, unbiased, factual, article. Well written and well thought out with no bitterness shown towards his former employer. He had good and interesting personal experiences thrown in there. I give credit where it is due and this is the type of reporting I would like to see from him in the future.

Glad you found the article acceptable, but can't help but notice one aspect of your comment: "this is the type of reporting I would like to see from him in the future." Korcek isn't a reporter writing a sports article, he's an unpaid columnist for The Daily Chronicle. Read David Haugh in the Tribune or anyone else writing a "column" and you'll find their viewpoint, prejudices, thoughts, etc. incorporated in the writing. While I may not always agree with Mike's views, I appreciate his historical knowledge of NIU athletics.
