RE: Joe's Workout with Grizz Today
Joe will not be drafted because he hit 16 of 25 3's while unguarded. There are guys on every street corner & every Highschool that can do this. Fact is joe had 4 years to improve his game at Memphis & he didn't do it.

Possibly true. Also possible that NONE of those guys could do it with Joe's speed with the ball.
I agree Joe probably won't be drafted. I think it's likely, however, that Joe spends 2-3 years in the NBA.

He did improve a lot while at Memphis, so I think you're right, NBA execs will see this and give him a shot.

He will probably get some looks in the summer and land on a summer league roster. Best case scenario is he goes to the D league and gets a 10 day or 2 with someone.

I'm afraid the Grizz won't be in the market for a 5' 10" 2G. He'll make $ somewhere, but it if he couldn't handle pg in college do you really think he can in the NBA?

5'10"? 2 guard?
How could Joe not "handle pg in college"?
This is waaaaaay to much hyperbole to be taken seriously. Come back down to earth, TigerDoh.

RE: Joe's Workout with Grizz Today
Not saying Joe will get drafted, but it's so crazy for fans to get on here and act like the guy can't play basketball! I'm saying he has an opportunity to make a roster, maybe not this yr or the next, but there's always a chance! I'm looking at a guy for the Orlando Magic, named Ronnie Price, there's no way anyone on here can argue and say he had an overall better college career than Joe(I'm not even saying he's not better than Joe) I honestly don't know, but he graduated from Utah Valley. This yr he averaged 2.4 ppg, 2.1 assist and 1.4 rebounds-with a salary of 1.1Million. So that's not superstar status, he latched on and made the best. That's all I'm saying about Joe, I think some people are taking it as the few people that are for Joe are saying he'll be a NBA superstar. That's not what I'm saying. I do believe that if given the chance, Joe could at least average 2.4 ppg!

No hyperbole. Josh tried to make him a pg and it didn't work so he ultimately took him off the ball so he wouldn't end up quitting. We've run PG by committee since he's been here and that didn't help Joe or the team. I long for the day we have a true PG and a more traditional line-up.

So many pronouncements based on small amounts of data, incomplete facts and misinterpretation, NTTAWWT. Why would anyone would want to spend his time arguing that JJ will NEVER make it at his chosen occupation in life?

Nobody said the guy can't play basketball. The point, by some, is that his chances to make an NBA roster are slim at best. I agree with that as well. Time will tell.

I think you meant Virginia, but yeah if Wallace is back making decisions there's probably a good chance.

You missed JJ's speech. He didn't say that making a lot of money in life was his goal.

Oh, you're one of the guys that believes Joe stopped being a PG his Junior year.
The guy is a PG, he's always been a PG, he'll always be a PG. He may be a score first PG, but he's a PG. He played the one 95% of the time in college, he'll play the one 95%+ at the next level, wherever that may be.
The kid is also essentially 6 ft tall without shoes on, so can we stop with the 5"10" garbage already? This was put to rest earlier in the summer.

Precisely why he's going to have a tough time in the league, if he were to get a solid look. He stagnated the offense at the top. He made poor decisions and looked totally out of sorts up there. When he rotated to the wing, his game improved tremendously as did his decision making.

RE: Joe's Workout with Grizz Today
Come crunch time..JJ was most often running the point. Announcers never got the memo that he wasn't our PG. Even team members were pretty much deferring to him at the end of games, except maybe Dix Jr.
As Coach Donovan said, JJ almost single handedly won that game against Florida. He was hyper impressed with Joe. I have no idea if this is true, but perhaps that is part of the reason why our Joe is down in Florida with Wilbekin preparing for the draft.
It's a know fact that JJ often had too much on his mind...he oscillated between doing it himself and getting others involved--and by others, I mean others that couldn't always catch a ball or hit a shot.
As Coach Joerger said with regards to one aspect of JJ's game..(paraphrasing) When JJ lets the game come to him, he will be where he wants to be. Too much Planning/thinking about what to do limits JJ's natural skills.
One thing is for certain, JJ wants to go for it..He wants to play in the NBA.
Go for it, JJ!! Give it all you have and more than anyone can possibly imagine you have! Your fans want you to make it. WE more than want you to make it. Some of us would stand at the gates of hell if it meant you would make it. lol And we won't back down.

I agree, he has a tough road to hoe in the Association. He's a 6 ft 167 lb PG, which is well below-size for an average PG. He can't shoot very well either.
I know that Crawford and Dixon initiated offensive sets from time to time over the last two years, but I can never agree that Joe rotated to the wing. He benefited from not having to play from the top, but he was always a PG. He guarded the opposing PG usually, and he was our leader in assists by far this season. He was our distributor.
I wish him well on draft day, some draft sims have him late second round. I'm not going to bet my house on him getting drafted though. I do expect that he'll have at least a short stop in the NBA though.
