I was laughed at months ago by Transitt and others when I suggested the biggest separator between Russ Smith, Napier, and Kilpatrick was their overall mental toughness. Joe is sensitive and the game is just too hard now with all the exposure basketball players get via twitter etc. to be sensitive. Geron is the only Tiger I'd take a long hard look at.
I hope the Grizz take Napier. That guy just wins.
The biggest difference between JJ and the guys you listed is their shooting prowess. If JJ could shoot anywhere near as well as the guys you listed he would be a lock to get drafted.
Lots of possibilities live in the Future. CC,Geron, Dixjr, and JJ have a ton of future ahead. What they go for and what they achieve will not be a coincidence, I'm thinking.
Not all of us put every ounce of energy into the highest goal in our chosen profession---a goal that few get the chance to pursue, much less reach.
I gotta tip my hat to those who do.
Go Tigers...all Tigers everywhere.

You are out of your damn mind.
Out of my mind? I'm not saying he'll make a roster and be a superstar, but to say there's no chance is crazy! There's always a chance! You have guys sitting on a NBA bench for years that never see the floor, but they're "in the nba" so in my opinion there's a chance! My opinion! No need to talk crazy about being out of my damn mind! Dude I'm a grown man, chill with that.
You said you'd take Joe over CJ Watson. That's just not smart.
-Joe was a VERY GOOD college guard. There is nothing easy about a college guard making a NBA draft roster.
-The criticisms from some of you posters are too harsh. Again, he is certainly not NBA ready at present. But imho, these critics are focusing too much on his Tiger games where he struggled rather than the games where he excelled.
- I will always appreciate Joe for the way he played the game or his hustle so to speak. His D was inconsistent . But, he always played at full speed. He always looked like a player who was prepared and in great condition.

Every point guard does not have to shoot.
Not many are as fast as he is up and down the court.
He could be a nice change of pace for a team like the Griz for a few minutes a half.
I would buy season's tickets to the Grizz if a Tiger got drafted by the Grizz, and I don't live in Memphis. But my Tigers' supporting family does. Last year they were devastated when the Latvian kid, Jānis Timma, got picked instead of DJ. o well. I guess Latvian kids have dreams of BBall too.
Ironically, the Grizzlies have picked players from schools that have eliminated the Tigers from the NCAA tourney ... so, look for someone to get drafted from the Spartans!

The Grizz are mostly trying to make money; winning games is the best way. It almost stands to reason, though, that they might look at the marketing aspect of BB in a town like Memphis.
What I'm saying is..there's love and adoration already built in for certain college players...no need to slap that phenomenal fact in the face with pick #60.
And for Pick #60 the Memphis Grizzlies choose....Jānis Timma....
This year they are off the hook--no second round picks--unless they trade Coach Joerger for one; and that deal seems to have fallen through.

in the NBA?
yes, every point guard has to be able to shoot or they have no value.
a point guard who can't shoot means you only have to guard him inside of 20ft from the basket. that makes it nearly impossible to execute anything on offense.

I think you meant Virginia, but yeah if Wallace is back making decisions there's probably a good chance.

I'd be thrilled with Adreian Payne. Whether he's still there at 22 remains to be seen.

Grizz had Lorenzen.
Grizz drafted Burks.
Was there a spike in attendance? Nope. I think you overestimate the importance of a former Tiger on the team. It all comes down to winning....win and the fans will be there. If a former Tiger will help the Grizz win, the fans will be there; if the Grizz lose with the former Tiger, the fan attendance will slowly dwindle. Grizz games are now a civic experience....over the last decade, the Grizz have done an excellent job ingratiating themselves into the Memphis community. The Grizz are Memphis - grit and grind.
