RE: Friday regional action
Here is hoping A&M beats UT in a high scoring extra innings game that eats up both teams' pitching staffs.

And that's why Clemson, who were one of the last 4 selected, should never have been given an at large birth,

I guess that tells us there is no run rule.

A&M answers the UT runs with 1 of their own in the 2nd inning. Thornhill doesn't look that sharp either. I can't imagine either starter can go much past 7 in this heat and humidity.

2 run HR for SE La. in the 6th to take a 4-2 lead over LSU. Kind of fun to hear the crowds going back and forth with the LSU and SLU chants.

A&M gifts UT their second of three runs. You just cannot do that against Texas, as it's the only way they score.

A&M doing their level best to throw this game away, literally. Passed ball scores another Horn. 3-1 UT now.

Kind of like ODU did earlier. I guess at least ODU waited until the ninth to throw it away.

Given the level of sobriety in that regional, they could get pretty mixed up by the end of it...

Despite sun and mostly blue skies out my hotel window, both Kendall and JD just tweeted that Reckling PA just issued first severe weather warning.

LSU up 6-4, assisted by 4 SLU errors. Make that 8-4.

4th and 5th errors by SLU. Perhaps, they should be playing the Aggies.

LSU's last two runs scored without a ball hit out of infield.

I would actually say Aggies outnumber Longhorns here at the park, but not by a whole lot, and the Longhorns have been much louder so far, leading 7-1 after 3-1/2. I've already had to listen to some young longhorn fans, (while conspicuously drinking their smuggled Budweiser) yelling "give 'em the chair!" several times in a weirdly perturbing mash-up of the usual 'sit down' baseball meme and this state's penchant for literally executing people. You know, I appreciate the Rice fandom more every time I see much of either UT's or A&M's.

That surprised the crowd, including me. It really doesn't look or feel like rain anytime soon here, but as someone else said, IANAM.

Now 7-1 UT on just 8 hits. This is going to allow Augie to pull Thornhill after one more inning (5 IP total)...and have him available to start a possible championship game on Sunday or Monday.
