but they have some real mouth-breathers too. a lot of their fans were devastated when western got an invite to c-usa. they saw their invite as some kind of validation of 'separation' from western.

i'm tired of it before it starts.

dahbeed, if you remember when your posts started on this board, we didn't hit it off too well.....I have seriously gained respect for you since that time both on the music thread and refraining from posting unless necessary.....I was wrong....

I think both of you guys are great additions.....I am for the first time fearful we really can't keep up on the sports side.....and it's painful to lose rivalries....which is what is neat about you guys.....I meant it in earnest.....no bs.....

I think you're making some exaggerations my friend, albeit small ones.

There were definitely MT fans who did not want Western coming along, not as a validation of separation, but rather as an opportunity for separation, but even the majority of them wanted you guys to follow eventually after we had some time to enjoy the competitive advantage.

It was only the outspoken minority, which is usually the case, that was truly representative of your claim.

As for me, for years I've let it be known that any conference move we make I want it to be as a package deal. Outside of the infinitesimal chance we were someday invited to a P5 conference where there's only one spot available, I'd just prefer the two of us always be conference mates.

and there was some weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth when we got the invite. on your home boards. i know i shouldn't carry that over here to neutral ground but i saw it on your rivals board and the other one i can't even find a link to.

and i'd guess both administrations were pleased we're back together just for the cost saving aspect of only 90 miles. both of us are pretty much in the same pecking order in our respective states. both fighting the same in-state battles.

we should be in the same conference. i'm just done with the knick-knack paddy-whack juvenile insults. that said....i'm not big enough to let the goofy mierda slide and i end up in the middle (no pun intended) of message board warfare.

Like I said I don't know this person but I will use stats to prove my point. While stats are not perfect...

it's a lot better than what we think we saw or what we think we remember from 20 years ago. I guess at times I can be a kind of know it all...

I actually appreciate that when folks bring facts to the table. I know its a message board but there's usually far more opinion that's masquerading as truth than actual facts. Opinion is fine too, but opinion pretending to be facts is what makes message boards annoying.

So, please make sure that: 1) your facts actually prove the point you're trying to make and not disproving something else (such as the hoops thread and the size of the league a few days ago and 2) that there is clear correlation all is good. Facts are bueno!
