but to be an unrepentant sinner and a Christian? how does that work?

I'll let them take it up with God, same as I do you.

RE: Texas GOP bars Gay Conservatives from participating in TX GOP
The "Gay Bloc" is coming to a close....

Quote:The Coming Gay Republican Wave

....Of course, most conservatives are now on the wrong side of history when it comes to marriage equality. And, for this reason alone, large numbers of gay Americans (between 75 and 80 percent) are reliable Democratic voters. Although former Vice President Dick Cheney has supported marriage equality for longer than President Obama and Republican-appointed Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote a rather ringing defense of it, the four Justices most beloved to conservatives sadly sided against marriage. While overwhelming majorities of Democrats in Congress now support marriage equality, likewise, fewer than 10 Congressional Republicans have said they do in public.

But, as equal marriage becomes far more widespread and public opinion changes (80 percent of those under 30 support same-sex marriage now) the issue will diminish in significance. And once that happens, it'll be easy to predict that about half of gay Americans will vote for conservative candidates....

You know ONE gay guy with a gun and pickup truck. But just because WE know one thing about a person, we have to quit assuming every other damn thing about a person, all while you know one thing about a person.

I don't know, Smaug, you just confuse me sometimes. You get upset when someone doesn't support gay marriage, then you get pissed at another for wanting to piss in the same bathroom that your daughter may be in. Sure it's a different scenario and circumstance, but it's all thrown in your face the same. And only one is wrong.

It's funny how the percentage of queer marriage supporting Americans changes daily. Every site is different.

Um, I believe I listed THREE things I knew about the guy, two of which would contradict the third if you had a narrow world view.

Pssst. Here's a fourth. He's a George Strait fan.

Sounds just like my gay uncle, big deal. He keeps his sexuality to himself, doesn't do anything in public, doesn't care about gays being married, thinks they're all titbags for crying about it constantly, drives a Dodge Mega Cab 4x4 and tends to 5,000 acres and his own business. He says he would be more supportive of gay marriage but they biitch and moan too much, and through law you can still have a lawyer write you a contract as to who gets your benefits, etc. And he's a country fan too, still doesn't excuse all the other shitbiscuits out there that think they've got it so damn bad.

Edit: He lives in Texas too, and calls over a trick now and then when he wants one, he's probably laid the pipe to Tom a few times.

Because

Gay people aren't welcome in the Republican Party of Texas. Regardless of how conservative they are.

There is no place in the Texas GOP for any group that doesn't advocate discrimination towards Gay persons.

This isn't the first time the Texas GOP has done this either.

When Gay people are welcome in the GOP, then you can question why Gay people reflexively vote for Democrats.

Gay people are welcome in the Gop Party. All they did was ban them from setting up a booth. While i think it is stupid of the GOP to do this, your statement of "Gays not Welcome at all" is misleading.

No, they aren't welcome. The Texas GOP and LCR have been fighting for 16 years on this. The rules are put in place to single them out.

Don't ask why Gays wont' vote for the GOP if they aren't willing to provide equal access to Gays that actually want to support them.

Note... I never said they were bad people, I was quite explicit about that...

I merely said (1) non Christians can be good people and (2) unrepentant sinners can't be Christians.

My kids Doc is gay, he is a very nice guy, a great doc, and someone I trust my my kids health. That being said.... Not a christian.

Once my kids learned what gay meant, they began to call each other gay when they'd get into a fight. It's sad that I have to warn them not to call someone at school "gay." BTW, they think two boys or two girls kissing is disgusting, but giggle and blush when they see a boy and girl kiss on television. That's your normal response.
