Pre-Starbucks
What was the best coffee shop in Memphis?

I'm not endorsing Starbucks as the best, but you get the picture.

My bad, I was actually thinking about the one near Eastgate.

Our office used to be in the Quince/Perkins area and I'm sure I was in that one a time or two.

RE: Pre-Starbucks
Republic is the best in town now. I'll admit I haven't tried Cafe Eclectic so I might be wrong.

High Point was pretty good. I usually swing by when I'm in Oxford.

I love Republic but the next time you are on South Main downtown try Bluff City Coffee. It's all espresso based and really good.

More really good ones downtown are Tamp & Tap and Cafe Keough.

Lots of good choices for the caffeine addicted who live or work downtown.

I worked for Shoney's for about four years, and it was a great coffee hang out. Lots of regulars.

That's it too. I think it was Steak and Egg after Dobb's House and then CK's.

Dobbs and Steak & Egg evolved from Fred Smith's father and Toddle House.
