RE: 2014 American Schedule
UC has:
(H) XU, San Diego St., VCU, NC Central, E. Ill., Morehead State
(A) Nebraska, NC State
(N) MTSU, Creighton/Ole Miss in Emerald City Classic

I think that's all that have been confirmed.

RE: 2014 American Schedule
It's ok but I would've rather had Houston play UConn and Temple twice, while only once against East Carolina and Tulane.

Safe to say Tulsa fans are pretty damn pleased with our home slate.

We're also going to play either Illinois or Indiana State in Vegas, too.

Awesome for you maybe. I doubt the former BE teams feel that way. Actually it is PATHETIC. LOL! ACC!

So far I know Temple has:

2 games vs Duke, UNLV or Stanford – Barclays Center Coaches vs Cancer
Penn – Home
St. Joes – Away
LaSalle – Home (The Palestra)
Villanova – Away
Kansas – Home

I’m not sure who will fill out the other 5 spots, any Temple fans that can fill in what I’m missing would be appreciated.

I like y'alls OOC, NYCTUFan 04-cheers

Is this a typical OOC for you all or has it gotten better???

It’s typical. The philosophy at Temple has always been to schedule a tough OOC to get ready for the season. Villanova, LaSalle, St Joes and Penn are on the schedule every year because of the Big 5 match ups, but Temple has routinely scheduled programs like Texas, Duke, Kansas and G’Town with home and homes and has played in tournaments recently with schools like Clemson, Georgia, Syracuse and Wichita State.

Unfortunately ECU has the opposite philosophy, schedule easy to get wins, then get your ass kicked in conference. This is something I would like to see change ASAP.

You and 90% of everyone else in Pirate nation, myself included.

NYCTUFan, how's Temple looking this season? I'd love to see y'all sweep your Philly cohabitants.

It will definitely be better than last season I can say that for sure (it couldn’t have gotten worse) but past that it’s tough to say.

Temple loses 1 senior Dalton Pepper who was a solid 2 guard, good defender and consistent scorer. Sr Ant Lee transferred to Ohio State and he will be missed from a size standpoint (6ft8). I liked him but more and more people very close to the program at Temple are saying he was a discontent and it had a pretty big negative effect on the team chemistry last season.

Junior Jaylen Bond a 6ft7 true power forward from the University of Texas who is very physical and athletic is eligible, UMass transfer Jesse Morgan a 6ft5 point / 2 guard is also eligible. He was UMass second leading scorer and a pretty good defender. Devin Coleman a 6ft2 in transfer guard from Clemson is also eligible and will be added to the roster. While at Clemson he shot over 40% from three and is supposed to be a pretty solid scorer. Top 100 incoming freshman Obi Enechionya is expected to contribute right away and at 6ft9 his size will be needed. Last seasons 6th man / spot starter Daniel Dingle will be back after being injured most of last season. He is 6ft7, quick, can play either the 2 guard or small forward position and his size and quickness creates match up problems.

With these 5 additions to the roster (Coleman, Bond, and Morgan worked out with the team all last season) Temple goes from a 7 man rotation to a solid 10 man rotation even with the loss of Pepper and Lee. Scoring won’t be an issue next season, where Temple needs to improve and get back to Temple basketball is playing a much more physical defense intensive game.

Temple basketball fans have a very low tolerance for subpar play. As big a supporter of Fran Dunphy as I am I have to agree, if Temple isn't at least solidly in the hunt for an NCAA bid this season his seat will definitely be very hot come next spring. Only time will tell but I am definitely looking forward to the start of basketball season.
